I can see that you are a little bit distressed at the answers but you must appreciate that without actually being there , an answer may never be right
when something is not closing fully it usually amounts to adjustment of something
It can be that the micro switch to stop the motor working is off a bit and stopping the motor action before the glass is fully in position
the micro switch will have a small arm to operate it
on the other hand the control switch may be an electronic unit that measures current flow and when that current exceeds a preset value ( motor can no longer turn) it switches the motor off
problems that will cause either to stop prematurely will be glass out of adjustment, rubber seal hitting in one area and not the whole perimeter at once
If it is a sensor unit , the unit may be failing and reading a high current when the current is actually normal so as the motor starts to lift the glass against the seal it shuts down
so to make suggestions --- get a workshop manual as it may explain any adjustments needed,---talk with a service center and determine exactly what controls the final positioning of the glass--- talk with a panel repair shop to gain knowledge of problems associated with the installation of the units and possible fixes available
1) figure out the year and model of your volvo, this info is crucial to anyone thinking about answering your question.
2) before you ask the question again with the crucial info, do a search for your model and year and "volvo" and the word "lift" on eBay. the results may answer your question, something holds them all up and they all go bad with time, so someone is selling replacements.

First, after receiving an email from FixYa about my "Ford 1992 Ranger Problem" which was not my query at all, as the question was titled
"F150 and F250 Mirror Compatibility"
, I am asked for money for the answer. Then they ask me what the solution is, so they can sell it to some one else. Why would I pay someone when they can't even get the question right. Incidentally, the solution was to ask someone competent.
