Just bought a Lacoste watch, and I am puzzled why they stress the importance of not changing the date between the hours of 11.45pm and 2.00am?.
If you change the date between those hours, and the watch is set for the correct time, it may automatically roll the date forward yet again. It could mess up the internal mechanism for changing the date. The date starts to change around 11:45 PM and can take a good long while for it to fully "engage" the new date, which is why they say to wait til 2:00 AM. The internal mechanics that change the date are very sensitive. If you force it to change the date while it is automatically trying to change it, it can off-set the little gears and they may not function correctly in the future. So just make sure the time on the watch is not between 11:45 PM and 2:00 AM when you change it. The best thing to do is to change the date to the day PRIOR to the day you want (for example today is the 21st, set it to the 20th, then advance the hour / minute hands past midnight so it automatically rolls into the 21st, and then you will know if you are on AM or PM).....
But just avoid setting it between 11:45 PM and 2:00 AM as they mention.
Please make sure you rate my answer 4 thumbs up, it is extremely important to me. I would be forever grateful if you could do so. If you need more help on this question please just respond to my answer here and I will get right back to you.
Thanks
Tim
