Just leave it for 10 mins unplugged without the batteries in it.
If you need a manual to re-program it, one of the users has one here:

Error code E206 casio SE-S400

I can't see a listing for that error on the 400 but it usually refers to a full journal memory on other models. Check your manual for the procedure to reset the electronic journal (maybe called EJ). You won't lose any programming or daily sales report info by resetting/ clearing the EJ so give it a try

I cannot fix the E037 error on my Casio SE-S400 cash register. This pops up every time I try to do a cash sale on any item

Yes, you have accidentally set a payment limit when you were programming it. I can't remember the exact code for that model. You could try the standard Casio limit removal:

Key on program mode
0
Cash
Subtotal

Casio s400 e35

Change amount exceeds preset limit.
Someone has programmed a limit on payments (usually on the cash button). Try paying by a different method (check, credit) and see if it opens the drawer. If so, you will need to re-program the cash button for no change limit. There is a code to do this in your manual. I don't have any info for programming this model. If you don't have a manual, one of the users has the SE-S400 Casio manual here:
