Replaced belt but still smell smoke odor

Hello, this is Leland with Crucial Vacuum,

If you are smelling a smoke order one of two things may be wrong with your unit:

Firstly, the motor may be the problem. If you hear any noises while the machine is running, you should contact the original manufacturer for trouble shootingsolutions.

Secondly, your vacuum may be in need of new parts. By changing either the brushroll or belts, you should be able to increase the quality of the suction, and eliminate any smoke odors. Since you have already replaced the belts, I have copied a link to the compatible roller brush that we carry for your unit!

What bag for oreck xl 2310rs?

Depends on whether you have a bag dock or not. Also would depend on whether you want a cloth disposable bag that will filter out things like pet odors or smoke and things like that, or go with a cheaper option of paper bags. If you have the bag dock, you will need the"CC" type bag.

My Oreck xl9100 stopped dead while plug still in wall. What now?

No smell or smoke? Then check outlet first (breaker?) Then open up and check for break in wire or loose connection

Oreck vacuum is smoking and the roller is not turning. vacuum is turning on and inflating well.

Sounds like the roller is jammed up. The motor keeps driving the belt, but for some reason the belt cant drive the roller. The smoke is coming from the belt, Clean the junk out from the roller.

My Oreck XL 9100HA started smoking (white smoke) when I vacuumed. There is a burning rubber smell. How do I check/change (if appropriate) the belt? I have no User manual, nor can I locate one on the Oreck...

It sounds like the belt has been damaged. You can get another belt from yoru local Oreck store. You can even take it in to the store to show them what happened. Purchase another belt and replace it. (It was very easy when I did this, so hopefully the belt is all you'll need too.)

Best of luck!

Oreck XL intellashield smells hot and smoky when operating. New bag and belt and no clogs. About a year old.

If it smells like burning rubber with white smoke its the belt make sure the brush spins freely. If its a electrical burning it will smell real bad you WILL be able to tell which then its a motor issue you can remove the bottom plate 5 phillips head screws opposite the motor youll see 1 screw remove it pry the duct out and look to see if there's anything stuck in the fan if not its the motor its self

My Oreck Vacuum cleaner keeps burning up belts. I

I am having the same trouble. I bought the vacuum new in October 2007 when my wife and I purchased a newly constructed home. Since it is only two of us, she only has to vacuum once a month. I have taken it in three different times and get the same story. It needed a new belt. Mine has white smoke coming out of it and smells like burning rubber. I contacted Oreck and got no results. They refused to let me discuss this with Dave Oreck, stating that he nevers talks with customers! Gary Neeble

My Oreck XL was working fine, then when I vacuumed a shag rug is started smoking and smelled like something is burning. (I changed the bag, checked for clogs--none found, and roller brush is turning. It...

Even though the brush is spinning, the belt is probably worn out and stretched. when you vacuum the shag carpet, it puts more drag on the brush. try running it on a shorter carpet or hard floor for a few minutes. if it doesn't smoke, then you know it's your belt. if it does smoke, then it's probably the motor burning up.
