I have a RCA DVD player, model DRC225N. A DVD was stuck inside and would not come out when I open and closed the tray. I kept trying that and now the tray will only go in half way and the DVD is still in there. Of course it's a Netflix DVD I have to return.
Thanks for any help you can give me.

Make sure that the dvd is unplugged from the outlet and remove the screws of the cover, you should be able to access the dvd from inside the player without the cover on.

Often the tray is powered by a rubber belt. If the latter breaks or slips the try will not open/close. The motor will work and tell the electronics that all is well because it has done its job but it really hasn't since the tray is inert!
There are a number of possibilities, jammed gears caused by a disc or gears out of time, some have a very small loading belt located under the draw in most cases, excessive ware and tare on plastic gear linkage.
check the close circuit switch inside the system. its maybe stuck, try to wiggle it a bit and it might work again.
the switch is at the end of the tray when it is closed, its a small black push botton swith.
be careful not to fry it when installing a new part
The tray position switch is disconnected or bent from disassembly. I expect one plug wire is off when you put the unit back. The tray switch is mounted so the tray strikes the switch when fully in and fully out.
the tray is not catching (underneath the tray is ridges). unplug the dvd player from the wall for 5-10 min...plug back up and give the tray a lite push while tapping the open/close button
It needs to be realligned. There is a little peg (usually white) that rides in a slot under the tray. It has popped out and needs to be put back in the track.
you should never use a disc thats scratched inside yiour machine its most likely your dvd machine is having trouble reading your media the best way to solve this is to unplug your machine wait turn it back on keep pressing eject
it should eject dont use that dvd disc again
hope this solves your problem
did for me
