Why does my humminbird 967 3d display not work correctly?

My unit will not work and does not show correct depth, etc. It works in simulator but not in normal. All I get is a display with a depth and bottom contour that is not actual. I changed transducers (to a new one)and there is no change. I reset defaults, no change. Is there a software fix for this? Humminbird no longer supports this product.

Hi,
in 99% this problem arises because of firmware corruption.... or rest 1% hardware failure... so update firmware of your gadget ...

Hi, if it worked on another boat, either the new transducer is faulty or you may have bent a pin in the back of the sounder when you reinstalled it in your boat. Check the pins, if it still won't work retry in the other boat. If ok return your new transducer for replacement. Hope this helps regards Phil.

It all depends. It very well be either the transducer or the unit. Best thing to do is send both the transducer and the unit in for service. The 800 number is 800-633-1468.

In water deeper than 400-500ft works erratically showing depths of 0 -20 60 -114 etc. is there something i need to set for deeper water
Try going into the menu and restoing the defaults just to make sure that are not any incorrect settings. This will restore the setting bact to the factory settings. If this does not correct your problem you can contact out customer service group and they should be able to trouble shoot your problem. Our number is 800-633-1468.

My temp is always fine but my depth will be working and then go to 1.2 ft and may start working again. sometimes i have to restart it to get it working, but it will still go to 1.2 ft at sometime
If you know someone that will let you try your unit on their hookup (same type unit) you may be able to isolate the problem to know if it is in the transducer or the unit. If you have the same results with a different hookup, then you would need to return your unit to our factory for a service check. Can not get off simulate
Assuming you're talking about a Depth Finder or a GPS... if it's depth finder, I had a similar problem on a Humminbird Depth Finder... the issue was holding down the power button too long. If you push it long enough for the system to light up and let go, it should solve the problem. Holding it down longer takes it into Simulation. Hope that helps.
