Canon camera is 5 years old. Eventhough battery is fully charged, the display continues to say ..CHARGE BATTERY..... now camera is totally dead .... and no display text telling you to charge batteries

Try this trick. Pull battery and put camera in a zip lock bag and into freezer overnight. Take out and install charged battery and see if there is any change. This worked with a Go-pro I had, unbelievable! Capacitors get old and dry out and these sometimes affect the charge circuit as well as batteries getting old too. Li-po batteries (yours) get old if you use them or not so it may just be an expired battery.

The phone has been dead for more than a year

You cannot usually charge a totally flat battery from the USB port. These are only used to "Top UP" the battery... You need to replace it with a fully charged one,and then us the USB to keep it fully charged.

Bought my phone yesterday...Battery was losing charge quickly.. battery was down to half charge after about 15 minutes of fully charging.. Was trying to let the phone die completley then fully charge it,...

Ok first of all you should never let a phone die out of charge at all.IF it dies out of charge there are chances it might charge again once you charge it but in some cases it wont, you need to boost your battery just like jump start your car.It cannot be done anywhere except some service centre. If you are not taking to your service center , then you need to buy a new battery.

Battery fully charged but cannot use camera. Applied new batteries works in review mode only Fuji Fine Piix F420

My camera had a similar problem. It would work only in review mode and as soon as photo/film mode was selected it went dead. What I did was 'discharge' the battery totally and then fully recharged it. This can be done by going to Menu-Option-Setup-Discharge. After I had done this the camera stopped going dead but the battery still had a very poor lifespan. I bought a new battery and now the camera works as new. Hope this helps-Steve.

The phone does not charge/ does not hold the charge.

Check if the battery is working well, first, discharge it al, then charge it fully and use the phone, if the battery appears to be charged and after a call or something, it says "LOW BATERY", you have to change the battery. Now, i the phone isn't charging, it is necessary to open the cellphone and clean the contacts, you have to check the charger plug too and if not responding after this, the problem is in some element that acts in the charger interface of the phone
