How to breakdown the age of your Whirlpool Appliance via the Serial Number:
1st Alphabetical character: The Manufacturing Division Code
2nd Alphabetical Character: The Year Manufactured (See table I provided Below)
1st and 2nd numerical characters (digits): The week out of the year that the product was manufactured.
3rd-7th numerical characters (digits): Order # this specific product was during that week out of the year.
**FOR EXAMPLE: the serial number of a Kenmore Dryer is as follows: MB1402320 which indicates that by looking at the charts; it was built in the 14th week of the year 1992.

MA2408599- so by looking at the charts and tables- I located the year in correspondence with the 2nd letter in the serial number which is A.
The year for the Code Letter "A" is 1991.

On Marlin-branded Model 60 rifles, the first two digits of the serial number indicate the year of manufacture. For example, if the serial number starts with 18... The 18 is significant, for subtracting it from 2000 gives the date of manufacture for the rifle, 1982. Likewise, a serial number starting with 17 would be a rifle manufactured in 1983.
This method has not been uniformly followed. It is valid only from 1971 through 1999. Prior to 1971, the first two digits indicated the year of manufacture. For example, a rifle with a serial number starting with 70... would have been made in 1970. in your particular question example a model 7800576 could have been produced in 3 different countries and the serial number will be from any one of those countries as each set of serial numbers will denote which country it was made in

Your washer was manufactured in March of 1993. The manufacture date is determined by the Serial Number. The second letter "C" represents the YEAR of manufacture.
