Have set my Ocean Breeze 30 pint dehumidifier to run continuously. The hose is properly connected yet the water reservoir fills and shuts the unit down. Code P2 is displayed.

SOURCE: Bucket fills up instead of water flowing out hose

There must be a blockage in the hose causing the water to back up and flow into the bucket. Try pushing a flexble peice of wire through the hose to unblock it.

SOURCE: Water from LG 30 pt dehumidifier drains into

(assumming you are not an idiot, like the other solver suggested) you may very well have it connected to the right spot, many of these units, are not balanced well, (or are balnaced all to well, depending on how you look at it) The imbalance, basically makes the water drip to the front, instead of the back. Try to put something under just the front of the machine, to tilt it back, ever so slightly. Good luck

SOURCE: I installed the LG model LHD45ELY8 in the basement

How long did you leave it unplugged? It should be left unplugged for several hours. Also check that the drain tube isn't plugged up and that the filter is clean.

SOURCE: Re LG Dehumidifier, Model LHD

Hi,
The problem is with a sensor...

Change the sensor assembly, Part # 6877A30013M from Appliance Factory Parts in Englewood CO, about $30. Easy to change, plugs into control board, remove old temperature probe by pry T-well open with small screwdriver and then crimping back closed when new sensor is installed, about an hour start to finish, hardest part is getting all the covers off. The sensor can also be found at RepairClinic.com for about $18.00 plus shipping. Their internal PN is 1462299. There is a new OEM... PN ending in "R" that replaces the old PN ending in "M".

Why won't it drain through the hose?

continuous drain option, So was there a plug in the end of pipe, did you remove it, does your pipe run down over, has to. Not a lot between bottom of unit and floor, But pipe has to go down over, if up and down, will not drain. down all the way

I love this dehumidifier, but can not figure out how to connect a hose to the bucket so that it continually drains, as opposed to the bucket filling up. Where is the connection for the hose on this unit?

Terry, the hose connection should be on the rear of the uni, covered by a screw off cap. The hose can be not longer than 48" and should slope down and straight to the floor drain. As, proper drainage relies entirely on gravity.

Hope this helped you and thanks for choosing FixYa.

Doesn't run, turn on or anything............I think it has died. Bought in 2004. Any suggestions? 65 pint/2 speed. Hose connection to drain, no reservoir needed.

the full bucket switch on these models goes bad, o.k.,i know, you said its hooked to a hose to the drain so the bucket never fills up,but, seriously, test the "bucket full" (in the upper right hand area of where the bucket installs) shut-off switch,as this will kill one of these units if it goes bad as it carries all the units power through it at all times,i replace many of these every season,if this switch goes bad it shuts off the entire unit

What setting do you have to have it on for the water to come out of hose only

The water collection bucket may have a hose tap in it. But, in your case the hose drain connection is on the side of the unit. You have to remove the cover of the hose connection, before you can connect the garden hose. Here's where it gets a little tricky, because the Owners Manual says to leave the bucket in place. However, the Troubleshooting Guide says to remove the bucket, if water is not draining thru the hose. Which to me, makes sense, because the unit can't recognize that the hose is connected, if the bucket is still installed, because it has a safety switch.

In case you have misplaced your Owners Manual, here is a link to it, that you can download and print for future reference.

Haier 30 pint dehumidifier continuous drain problem.

Many just attach the hose at the reservoir; from your description, Haier apparently has a separate location. Check that the point that the hose attaches has an opening (many don't, they expect you to drill it). It should then drain through gravity. Check to make sure that no part of the drain hose is higher than the bottom of the reservoir, otherwise it can't drain. It won't siphon because each time the the tank empties, the suction is broken and the siphoning can't continue.

Figidaire 25 pint dehumidifier

Check the point on the tank (Bucket) where the hose connects to. Make sure there is no obstruction at the outlet of the bucket to the hose connection. Next make sure the hose has no kinks or no loops that may trap air to the drain. If necessary for a long run to the place of drainage raise the dehumidifier to a higher level for better drainage.
