Pressing the function and F5 key disables the mouse. Press it again to re-enable it.

SOURCE: Locked cursor on Toshiba Satellite using Windows Vista

you need to press f8 on boot when it is loading, to enter safe mode (before the Windows flash screen)

then when in "Safe mode" you can  should be able to gain access,

reboot from this mode and see if it loads normally,  if not then you have a configuration issue.

go back into safe mode, (login) and go to start>Run,  run a program called MSconfig,  this will allow you to look at your startup items,  and allow you to disable/enable them individually,

from this point you can diagnose which programs are causing your issues.

I hope this helps

If it is completely frozen press and hold the power button (you will lose any unsaved work) it should turn off, failing that remove the power source.

SOURCE: wireless function key combination

Hi,

Usually on the toshiba it is Fn and F2 or F4 the f key will have a coloured picture of an antenna with waves coming off of it.

Also most toshiba laptops have a physical switch on the edge of the case below the keyboard. Make sure that switch is on first then try the Fn and function key combo as they work together like a two way light switch. Both must be on for the card to be active.

Hello, my cursor (touchpad) is non responsive. Thanks

I would check to see if it is turned off. On a Toshiba, you can press the Fn key and one of the special function keys to turn the touchpad on or off. There is an icon on the special function key to identify it.

How to turn off / disable the mouse-over pop-up with the Fn keys

Touch pad failed.

Look along the top of the keyboard for an "f key" that shows a "touch pad" icon, IF you see it, press the "function key" (along the bottom of the keyboard) PLUS at the same time the "f key" (that you found along the top) and that should "toggle" the touch pad back on....
Also, IF you plug in a USB mouse that will allow you to move the cursor around--but the USB mouse doesn't fix your touch pad problem.
Hope this helps.

Laptop computer cursor

yes, Toshiba models have a function key combination that will disable the built in touch pad, it is next to the function button to enable the external display output.
