I have a toshiba 32 inch 1997 tv. When I turn32G90 it

It sounds like the picture tube may be weak (because it's orange) but it going to half ascreen is not caused by the picture tube but likely a vertical circuit problem. If this problem happened suddenly (going orange) then the picture tube is probably good and at least worth bringing in for an estimate.

All works on tv but picture is very dark no matter what you do

if the brightness control has no effect, then picture tube is going out if it has a glass tube crt display. used to be a rejuvinator would cook off some of the deposit internally on the crt, but it also reduces the life of the set.

Tv

Good day.

The problem with your unit is that when your tube was replaced, it was not degaussed or demagnitized. The purpose of such is to distribute the color evenly unto the entire television matrix.
You can try to demagnetized it by rotating a magnet around the surface( but not so near) of the picture tube while it is operating.

Also, please check for the degaussing coil around the rear portion of the tube was returned and also check for loose contacts.

Color is not good around outer edges of picture

When the colors are off around the edges on a regular picture tube TV, it usually means that the degaussing thermistor's solder joints have cracked loose. Another possible cause is that a strong magnet, such as in a stereo speaker, was brought very close to the picture tube and has magnetized the tube. Resoldering the solder joints on the degaussing thermistor and demagnetizing the picture tube should put the color back to normal.

Toshiba 32A41 TV -- color problem

Toshibas are notorious for developing shorts in the inernal guns of the picture tube. In your case the green gun is shorted to G1. The noise you heard was an internal arc between the elements. It is unfortunate however, the repair of this problem usually requires the picture tube to be replaced. Sometimes a savvy technician with sencore picture tube rejuvenator can remove the short. This however usually does not last. Scrivitron

No picture...Sound is fine.

There are no tubes, except the picture tube, to replace.. itys a solid state set. your problem is most likly thefiliment circuiut on the crt board, or maybe a verticle problem. I would say with A set of this ventage, will most likly cost to repair more then the sets worth.
