Take a close look at the divider flap (located on the left hand door), on the lower of the three hinge points there is supposed to be a tension spring that will hold the flap in the open position when the door is open and also assists in keeping the left hand door closed properly. If it's missing, start looking for it or a replacement.

Good day! The center flap (vertical hinged flap) no longer rotates back in when closing the left door. Result: the flap remains "out" when closing the door thus banging up against the right door.

Their is a factory issue on some models call the factory to see if your unit is a defective unit. Other wise the door flap has to be replaced. Not cheap..

How to install spring on french door flapper/divider for Samsung RF266

On mine one end of the spring broke off in the hole on the door. It was on top of the hinge so it looked like a pivot pin. I found that this was the second hole for the spring. I pushed the end of the new spring up under the hinge and popped the broke piece of old spring out. Now I could see the 2 holes. You then need to put the spring into each hole. The hole on the flap also needs a white plastic sleeve if that is missing. that goes on the end of the spring and fits into the flap hole. Then the trick part is understanding how the spring works? If you put both ends of the spring in the holes and shut the flap, it now stays in position to close and be flipped open by the guide that swings it open to seal.

Good Luck.

Ice dispenser is jamming up

hi there.this is difficult without a visual but u can check a few things. 1-is it jamming due to ice chunks build up or not.2- ice chunks forming on the whole bucket or just near the exit flap.3- if the whole bucket then check inlet valve and water pressure.4-if near exit flap then the flap is not shuting properly due to weak return spring/seal /flap pivot./links or flap valve.hope this helps good luck.Ali

Re: the "flap panel" seal between the two doors;the top clip on the flap panel became unclipped. How can I re-clip it?

I have bad news for you. The schematic i see shows you have the french door style refrigerator, with a "finger" that is utilized to close the door securely closed. This finger is located at the top of both fresh food doors, and often breaks off. If this clip is the finger im referring to, then the bad news i have is that the only way you can repair this, is to replace the skin of the door, or the door itself. When i first came across this issue at a customer's house, I was told then that the cost would be several hundred dollars.
sorry to be the bearer of bad news, please dont shoot the messenger.

Mf12568aeb lights flashing and ice door flapping

You will have to call Maytag at 1-800-688-9900...Motherboard is bad. You can pull out the little plate at the bottom of the water/ice dispenser, then unscrew the two screw. Pull on the bottom and the panel should come out. Unplug the white connector on the left. This will stop the flapping of the ice dispenser flap.

Jenn-Air JFC2089H Bottom Freezer French Door Refrigerator. One month ago the water tap stopped working then I noticied that the top doors to refrigerator would not reliably close like they used to. Last...

The water could have been frozen in the door and melted when your fridge warmed up.

The lower hinge on each door may have a door closing cam. It raises the door up ¼ inch when opening and this assist in closing the door. If it’s wore out and doesn’t work the door may not seal and the gasket can be damaged. Watch the operation of the door to see if it rises up when opened.

The fridge gets its cold air from the freezer through a vent(damper) between the freezer and fridge. The fan in the freezer blows air through it. There is a flap you adjust with the fridge temp. control. Make sure it's opening and closing when you adjust the fridge temp ..

If the evaporator coils behind the back panel of the freezer are icing up because of auto defrost failure that will stop the circulation of cold air and eventually affect the freezer too.

check defrost timer, defrost heater, defrost thermostat. In most newer models the timer has been replaced by an electronic control board. If the heater and thermostat are ok it’ll be the control.
