How to install ink cartridge on hp2140 fax - HEWLETT-PACKARD HP 2140 Fax

INK CARTRIDGES ARE TIME SENSITIVE, check if the date in the box was current or expired.

If you replaced an ink cartridge while Near Empty was displayed on the LCD, the LCD may ask you to verify that it was
a brand new one. Example: Did You Change Blck? 1.Yes 2.No. For each new cartridge you installed, press 1 on the dial
pad to automatically reset the ink dot counter for that color. If the ink cartridge you installed is not a brand new one, please be sure to select 2.
WARNING
If ink gets in your eyes, irrigate them with water immediately and call a doctor if you are concerned.
If you wait until Ink Empty message is displayed on the LCD, the machine will automatically reset the ink dot counter.
If the Install message is on the display after you have installed ink cartridges, check that the ink cartridges are
installed properly.

open the front panel door and take out the ink cartridge by sliding it downwards and then pulling it towards yourself. in order to put the cartridge inside the printer you need to insert the same by sliding it from top to bottom and once you hear a click sound it means the cartridge has been installed

If you mean change then :


1: Turn the power off on your fax machine.

2: Open the front or top control panel Make sure not to force the door open.

3:Locate the ink cartridge. Gently pull the cartridge out. Set the cartridge aside.

4:Take the new cartridge out of the package and reserve the packaging. Remove the protective covers over the copper connectors.

5:Insert the new cartridge into the fax machine with the brand label toward you. Now place the old cartridge into the plastic wrapping and box that you reserved from the new cartridge. Recycle the old cartridge or dispose of it in the garbage.

6:Close the fax machine's access panel. Turn the fax machine's power back on.

Warning:
1:Touching the copper connectors on the ink cartridge could damage the cartridge. 2:Make sure that you purchase the correct cartridge for your fax machine. Purchasing the wrong one could damage the cartridge or your fax machine. good luck . please don't forget to rate !

A “No Cartridge” error message on 1960c products is caused by third-party (non-Brother) ink cartridges
leaking ink onto the Ink Sensor PCB and shorting out the cartridge sensor. In order to resolve this issue, a new
Ink Sensor PCB will need to be installed.

it will not send or receive a fax if the error is still there. Clear the error by trying these steps:
-open cartridge door and remove the cartridge
-unplug the power cord at the back of printer
-after 30 seconds, plug the cord and turn on the printer. It will ask for the cartridge.
-Open the cartridge door and insert the cartridge
-close the access door
-if the error is cleared, try faxing again.

probably you did not fix properly the ink cartridge.check the cartridge for proper seating.

Use only Genuine HP ink cartridges.

I replaced my new $40 cartridge with another new cartridge and it worked.
