My Toyota Tazz 1300 battled a bit to start this morning. Made a bit of a sound and then started. The battery was replaced 3 months ago, so it is not that. Possibly the starter?

Hello Elize
It could be a lot of things and the fix could be just as simple as changing the engine oil. When the engine oil is not changed - it gets thick and causes starting problems.
1) Clean engine oil.
2) Need new spark plugs or re-gap the spark plugs.
3) Check ignition electrical systems
4) dirty air filter - change air filter
5) change the fuel filter
6) water in gas tank - put in some wood alcohol to remove the water in the gas tank.

Pilot not light

Sounds like you have a hydro-generator on this unit. Check the output on the hydro-generator it should be about 1.5V DC. If not clean the inlet screen and check your water pressure. Water pressure less than 30 PSI will cause issues. If you have 1.2V-1.5V DC make sure the power switch is on. If the power switch is on replace the control unit. I sell parts for Bosch units only!

Car sputters when acelerating

Possible causes are:
-water in the fuel: fill it up at a different place, or if the tank is already mostly full, buy a bottle of water remover ("dry gas") at an auto parts store and add it to the tank
-dirty injectors: if this started gradually, there may be crud on your injectors. Buy a bottle of injector cleaner at an auto parts store and add it to the tank
-lack of spark: If neither of those solve it, you've got a problem with the spark plugs (less likely), spark plug wires (more likely) or ignition coil. Replace the plugs and wires, they're due on a car that age if they haven't been done. If that doesn't fix it, you need a new ignition coil.
