Why does error code 8001002f appear when formatting disk ?

The function proceeds in the order of Physical Format to Logical Format.
• If the hard disk is yet to be formatted, the malfunction code "C-D010" will appear. Ignore this code and continue with the formatting procedure.
Use:
• When the hard disk is mounted.
• When the hard disk is to be initialized. (Physical Format to Logical Format)

2. Touch these keys in this order: [State Confirmation] ? [Memory / HDD Adj.] ? [HDD

(1) Physical Format
1. Touch [Physical Format].
2. Press the Start key to start the formatting sequence.
3. The sequence will be automatically terminated as it is completed.
4. Turn off the Main Power Switch and turn it on again more than 10 seconds after.
(2) Logical Format (Only when initial is set up)
1. Touch [Logical Format].
2. Press the Start key to start the formatting sequence.
3. The sequence will be automatically terminated as it is completed.
4. Turn off the Main Power Switch and turn it on again more than 10 seconds after.

That's a Mac error stating that the file you are trying to delete is currently being accessed.

First, close all open programs and try to delete the file. If that doesn't work, eject the drive by clicking the eject button in a Finder window. Disconnect the drive. Reboot. Then reattach the drive and immediately delete the file.

Dear! Delete your C drive and create again with the help of windows and then format and install Windows. Your problem will be fixed.

Forgotten Hard Disk Password
When the user keys in the wrong password three times, an error message appears. The user must now reset
the password.
1. Make a note of the error code that is displayed with the error message.
2. Run unlock6.exe from the DOS prompt in the following format:
unlock6 XXXXX 00
(XXXXX = HDD password error code, 00 = CRC base - default is 00)
3. Select Upper case ACSII Code from the screen that appears. The HDD master password is displayed.
Make a note of this password.
4. Reset your system. When the Enter Primary Master HDD User Password prompt appears, enter the
password you made a note of in step 3.
Resetting a BIOS Password
The user can reset a BIOS password using the clnpwd.exe utiility.
1. Copy clnpwd.exe to a DOS boot up disk (or flash drive).
2. Boot your system in DOS mode.
3. Execute clnpwd.exe from the boot up disk (or flash drive).
4. Press 1 or 2 to reset the required password as shown on screen.
5. A confirmation message appears when the process is successful.

this is a memory fail...and it is usually caused by errors on the disk or ram memory ...try to not use the recovery disk .and instead use a clean windows and boot until you have the choice to delete the partitions and format again from scratch..
after that install to the end and use the recovery cd just for the drivers ...

It seems that the card is bad. Try to format the card on a different machine to rule out your Windows formatter.

If your ps is under warranty then speak to sony, or you can reformat the hd on a lap top. You can also upgrade to a 200gb hd, which is very simple to do, and only costs about 40-50 pound or 80-100 dollars.

I found this problem only when I tried to use a RW disk. The camera will not use a rewritable disk. I reformated the disk in my computer but it still would not work in the camera.
