SOURCE: my toshiba tv model 32yt56b2 wont power on light flashes and makes clicking sound

I see so many here with no sound/nopicture issues:

ISSUES:

1. IF sound main fuse/s are good.
2. If no power or standby check main fuse, standby power supply and any signsof damage you can see---burnt parts etc.
3. almost all these sets the troubleshooting involves checking voltages on the main power board to narrow down theproblem.
4. Be safe and if you do not know what you are doing don't open the set.

Answers to issues:

1. RE:fuses---if a blown fuse is found get a good replacement(not the genericones like Radio Shack). Many fuses are special even aside from amperage--Don'tput a higher rated amperage fuse in the set for any reason.

2. RE: power supply in set: if total dead aside from main fuse the set uses astandby power supply that runs 7/24 and a main supply (some are combined andsome not.

Here aside from checking fuses you want to examine all the filter caps on thepower/standby to see if any are puffed up or buldged up in some fashion--Iattach a photo of a good one---top should be silver metal and PERFECTLY flatand have no brown material coming out on top or bottom.

What happens in the standby area is they use caps with too low a voltage rating(saves money) which causes them to fail in a year or two---the standby runs7/24 and the heat dries out the caps and they fail.

3. Trouble shooting consists of the above and then at some point you have tobuy and try a board to see if it fixes it or not.

4. Safety first--no TV set is worth getting injured or even killed over.3_29_2012_1_18_58_pm.jpg

SOURCE: TV model 40RV753. Brand new. Setting up problem.

Hi Gordon,

Did you fix this problem? I have exactly the same model with exactly the same problem. I've checked the capacitors on the PSU board (as suggested in one of the responses above) and they all seem OK. If you fixed the problem, I'ld really like to know the solution. Many thanks.

Regards,
Harry.

Mod.Hp980PT, red and top green light flash, no heat

This is a very common feature on these types of simple, high-volume, low-cost home appliances known as a safety fault. This fault will temporarily (or permanently) disable the appliance and happens for several reasons: (1) an over-temp (high heat) occurrence, (2) an over-power (power surge) occurrence, (3) an under-power (power outage or trickle power) occurrence, (4) an over-time occurrence (auto-off fails), (5) a short-circuit occurrence (exposed/crossed/frayed wires, etc.). Fortunately, it uses a digital "fuse" system and can be reset by the user. However, there is no universal reset process on SoftHeat products so you just have to play with it until you figure it out (customer service dept is no help). Mine is a Kaz SoftHeat HP980PT, with a red power indicator/power-off button and 4 green heat setting buttons. Mine faulted after a heavy storm caused multiple power outages and power surges in my neighborhood. The green light on the highest heat setting button was flashing on mine. Here's how I fixed it: (1) unplugged both ends of power cord and straightened out the cord, then plugged back in to the heating pad end. (2) While holding down the flashing light button, I plugged back in to the wall outlet. (3) While still holding down the flashing light button, pressed and held down the red power-off button, then while still holding down the red power button, I released the flashing light button, followed by releasing the power-off button. This stopped the flashing green light and caused the red power indicator light to stay on (steady-on). It works fine now. Note: Some models have an actual hard fuse in addition to the digital fault feature or possibly only a simple fuse (without the digital fault system). These fuses can the found at many retail stores and then very easily replaced. I hope this helps some of you!!!

I have a Emerson 32" LC 320 EM1F, When I press power button, green light flashes 12 times then red light comes on and goes to standby. What seems to be the problem? How can I fix it?

It sounds that the main digital board has damaged. 12 blinks indicates it. if you wish to know more check this link for more details about 12 blinks to Emerson TVs

When I power on the tv, the light goes to green and then a few seconds later goes to a red flashing light

When a set is powered up, there are internal checks that are performed. The initial green light indicates that power has been applied. The flashing red light indicates that a problem was found that is preventing the set from functioning properly and it has shutdown to prevent further damaeg. If you can supply the model number, I may be able to provide additional details. Also, check to see if the flashing red light has a pattern. Quite often the pattern will indicate what problem was detected.

Thanks,
Dan

The Power Light is Red

yeah, should stay red when unit is turned off, indicating there's power but it's doing nothing.

Per user manual:
Solid red - power off (standby mode)
blinking red - power off (now cooling)
blinking green - power on (preparing to light lamp)
solid green - power on

Zebra LP 2824

the error you are getting is a label size error. a label variance of as little as 1/203th of an inch can cause this.

you need to recalibrate the printer to the media, hold feed when powering up the printer letting go once the light flashes 4 times. this will force the printer to autodetect the label size.

if you are specifying the label size in you software or driver settings, measure and double check the label size
