There are two Youngshin-t AWM ribbon cables that wrap around at that point of the unit. Have you or someone taken the unit apart to upgrade the RAM or anything like that? I bought a used Q1 Ultra and previous owner was an idiot and had litterally broken several leads in the 10cm ribbon cable and also pits in the longer ribbon cable. There is a video online with a gentleman who does a ram upgrade, you can watch this to learn how to safely open the Q1 Ultra and check the stylus housing area for a short.
I'm not sure what Chipworm is talking about because the housing for the stylus does not contain any type of sensors that I am aware of. I've taken the Q1 Ultra apart down to individual components.
The internal ribbon cable (CODE: Youngshin-t AWM 2896 30v 80c vw-1) may have become chaffed, when you remove the metal stylus the bare copper on the ribbon gets touched and powers down the unit. I recommend trying to find a replacement cable or if under warranty get it replaced by the manufacturer. try www.digikey.com for spares.
Stylus is controlled by the softwares , sensors are working fine in the pc . software problem is mpre likely then a hardware , try re-installing the OS , if it doesnt work the only you refer the company people (the manufacturers)

The Samsung Q1 is a hybrid, ultra-mobile, touch-screen device that is basically a very small tablet PC. It features a 7-inch screen, weighs a mere 1.7 lbs., features a Windows operating system, doesn't have a built-in keyboard, and comes in a variety of configurations. The Samsung Q1 doesn't offer outstanding battery life, but you can make some moves to boost your computing time.
Dim the Screen
Dim the screen brightness. Four programmable application-launch buttons occupy the right edge of the Q1. One of these, the menu button, calls up frequently-used controls, including screen brightness. Reduce the screen brightness as much as you can, as it's one of the best ways to extend battery life. Close Power-hogging Apps
Close applications and browser windows when you're done with them. Too many open programs drain the battery. Beware power-hogging apps. Watching a video or listening to music on your Q1 drains your battery life much faster than just using Microsoft Word or checking email. Turn off the Wi-fi networking when not in use. The built-in Wi-fi searches for a network when you're not connected, which drains battery life.
Properly Caring for and Feeding a Battery
Unplug the Samsung Q1 after the battery is fully charged. Leaving your Q1 plugged in 24/7 leads to some discharge from the battery. Consider buying a bigger battery. A 3-cell battery comes with most configurations of the Q1, but you can also buy a 6-cell battery to double the battery life.
Room Temperature is Best
Don't expose the Q1 to harsh conditions. Keeping the device in a blazing hot car in direct sunlight harms your battery life. If you use your Q1 in conditions above 95 degrees Fahrenheit, you can permanently damage the battery. Cold conditions don't harm the battery in the same way, but if you leave the Q1 in the cold, let it warm to room temperature before you use it.
If your Q1 won't turn on and the charging light just flickers, most likely
you have inadvertently shifted the Hold slider button and your Q1 is on Hold.
The Hold function prevents most functions on the Q1 from operating.
To get your Q1 to turn on, shift the Hold slider button so that Hold is
turned off.
This is most likely going to be one of two things.
-The DC jack is damaged. Caused by having the adapter plugged in and someone or something jarring it to the point that the solder joints break.
-OR-
-The motherboard is damaged.
You can test, sort of, for the first. Plug in the adapter and gently wiggle it around, while at the same time pressing the power button to attempt to turn it on. If it powers on briefly then you will the DC has broken solder joints. If it doesn't then it's probably the latter.
The motherboards are made in korea so this maybe the only place to get one

You have to remove all the screws on the bottom of the unit except for the ram and hard drive covers smaller screws. After taking the screws out, you have to take the battery out, flip the unit on it's screen and while prying (Very gently) on the bottom part you have to push in 2 tabs on the sides of the battery slot. After doing so, pry open by starting at the part where the USB ports are located. Before prying open all the way use a guitar pick/soft plastic tool to run along the crease by the stylus pen holder, there is a small metal piece that holds the 2 pieces together. Lift from the side with the USB ports and unplug the inverterboards connector that goes to the mother board before opening it all the way. the inverter board it stuck on the stylus pen holder with double sided tape.
The function is assigned to the key by a preloaded software. I suggest you reload your "system software media" which is on one of the two DVDs which come with your Q1.
Unit powers down when ever I remove the stylus from its holder on the Q1 unit.
