Are you certain that the touchpad wasn't disabled accidentally from the Fn key? There are secondary features assigned to each of the Function (F1-F12) keys, usually in BLUE. On of them is to disable/enable the touchpad (toggle-type function, do it one time to disable, the next to enable). You press and hold the "Fn" key (next to the Windows key at bottom let of keyboard, then press the associated Function Key.
Generally Function key can be enabled from BIOS settings. BIOS settings can be accessed by pressing DEL, F10 or F2 key at system startup (depending on the laptop u have), which is prompted at screen at startup. Give it a try
This is due to the special keys in the bios being enabled, enter the bios and enable the function keys if you need those keys more than the special keys (which can also be accessed by holding down the Fn key, lower left).
Have you tried using the function keys? There is a row of keys at the top labeled F1 though F12, they also have symbols. Find the one that looks like one of these, press and hold the function enable key that is like at the bottom of your keyboard and then select the button you found in the top row.

I am unable to find a photo of your laptop's keyboard, so I cannot be certain which function key will enable your wireless adapter.
However, most laptops are very similar, so this solution should work for your problem.
1) Locate the secondary function key (probably labeled "FN") on your keyboard. 2) Locate the key which controls your wireless adapter as a secondary function. It will have the following image on the key: http://cdnsupport.gateway.com/s/Mobile/2007/Phantom/WirelessIcon.gif 3) While holding the FN key, press the wireless key 4) Your wireless adapter is now enabled. If you are still having wireless issues, the problem was not that the hardware wireless adapter was disabled.
I ran into this on a Panasonic DMR-EA38V, and have discovered that yes, it is one of the input selected with the input select button. It will select DVD, usb, SD (for SD card), and VHS. Scared me for a minute!
