Door is locked

There could be a few reasons why your washer is stuck in lock mode with the door open. One possibility is that there is something blocking the door from fully opening, preventing the lock from disengaging. "DO" means door open. If it smells hot, unplug the washer and have a professional check it out.

Please refer page 12 and 24 in the washer manual to find out how to open the locked door. You have to press the door open button for 3 secs at end of cycle.

door lock sounds like its broken, you will need to remove the two screws on the back of washer top and remove the top. (power off) now as you look at washer from the front you will see a round object with a pipe. remove the pipe and see if the door opens. this is just to check to see if its this part stopping the door to be open, you are going to need to use a flat blade to push the pin in the lock you should see the pin as this stops the door from being open. the part looks like this https://www.ebay.com/i/253266384384?rt=nc if the door is slammed or banged, it can damage the lock, easy to replace when the you can open the door. wiring plug only fits one way.

Make sure you are allowing the washer to completely finish its cycle before opening the door. It is normal for the door to lock at the end of a cycle. The locking mechanism keeps owners from opening the door before all of the water has been drained. If the door on the washer is locked, select the "Drain" or "Spin" options on the front-load washer. This will completely drain the water from the system and unlock the door, allowing you to open it.

DOOR LOCK ERROR
After 6 failed attempts to lock the door.
Possible Causes/Procedure
Door lock mechanism is broken or removed from door.
Door switch/lock unit failure.
1. Unplug washer or disconnect power.
2. Check door switch/lock unit.
3. Check the wire harness connections to the door switch/lock unit and Central Control Unit (CCU).

Is this a door latch problem that is being displayed on the control panel? Is the door mechanism broken? Is the door latch working, but is jammed and will not open? Is this a control panel lock problem, where the washer is locked and will not operate? There are several different causes of door latch problems.

F28 means your washer is locked and not unlocking. To unlock your washer take the bottom access panel off by removing the 3 bottom screws.
Reach up near the latching assembly & Attached to the door latch is a little plastic pull lever. Pull down on this lever and open the door. Unplug your washer for 60 seconds and plug your washer back in. If the error re-occurs you need to replace your door lock.

turn off all water to your washer run the washer empty for a full cycle when the cycle ends the door will release
spray a lubricant such a WD40 into/onto the door lock
the door kit will not fix the problem

The comment posted 14 may 2009 it what helped me. DO NOT PRY OPEN the door. Find the release cord inside the soap dispenser,,,you may have to remove the 4 screws and lift it from the washer like i did. I had to lean into the door and pull the cord to release the lock. It was not a system error. The washer was over loaded and although the door was closed and locked...the load pushed the door enough to indicate that it was open and would not wash. After opening the door, rearranging the load and removing some, the door closed and latched locked and was able to continue with the wash. DO NOT PRY OPEN,,,use the cord release first,,,this worked for me.
