V2490 will not go to second stage vucuum - Tilia FoodSaver VAC420

Between two stages, the difference temp has been set up to call for second stage.. If you need immediate heat what you did is right. But again you have to reduce to your required temp. Hence, wait the second stage get started.

The double snowflake means that the second stage cooling is on. (One snowflake indicates first stage cooling.) This gives a greater temperature change in extremely hot conditions with than you could get with a single cooling medium and drier air in your home.
From the patent: A two stage cooling system in which the first stage's cooling affect is transferred to the second stage through direct contact with an oil-like material. The oil-like material is cooled by direct contact with water which has been evaporatively cooled. The oil-like material is then utilized to cool the air stream prior to the second stage evaporative cooling. The use of an oil-like material in the first cooling stage of evaporative cooling allows a relatively dry air stream to be produced so as to fully capitalize upon the evaporative cooling affect of the second stage cooler.

The second stage comes on if your system hasn't reached the desired temperature at the thermostat within a programmed length of time (5 minutes is a usual setting). BTW: Your system also has two stage heating.

the small line is a vucuum line that stops fuel flow when the engine is not running.(if not hooked up no fuel will flow) the larger one is fuel to carb.

The larger screw controls the pull weight, that is how many pounds weight on the trigger.

The front smaller screw controls the length of the first stage, whether you want a short first stage or a longer one.

The rear small screw controls the lenght of the second stage which can be reduced to zero.

May not have exactly your model, but something very very similar. Also, keep in mind, the second stage will free-flow as an "overpressure safety" if the first stage is malfunctioning. Check your intermediate pressure (should be ~150). If you can't do this, try your second stage on another first stage (any brand), and try another second stage on your first.

If it is for sure your second stage, check for proper adjustment of demand lever, bent/damaged demand lever or diaphragm plate, or damaged valve seat.

vucuum modulater on the pass side of trans toward the rear. has a vacuum line to it and is round. sounds like your problem.

An octo IS a regulator. There are two types or regulators on a typical scuba rig. Your first stage reg that is attached to your tank valve. From this first stage, there are hoses leading to your primary breathing second stage reg and your Octo second stage. The job of the first stage is to bring that possibly 3,000 psi air in the tank, down to a more reasonable pressure of about 150 psi. From there, the air goes to the second stages and can be reduced down further by these second stage, on demand (meaning it delivers air when you inhale and stops when you finnish inhaling), regs. The Octo is a second stage back up for a buddy that is out of air or if your own primary second stage ( the one you normally breathe from) is no longer functioning. Octos are generally ( not always) a cheaper reg, that may not have all the bells and whistles that a primary air source does. It's there for an emergency, so ease of breathing under load and tuning adjustments are minor. It gives you air when you're in a pinch, thats the important thing.
