HP.com has all you need , they made it and support it why not go there click support or their forum..
you did not need any down load any disk. ever.
model, LM917AA

  • NO PC told (now that does matter)
  • or CCTV NVR system or alarm system told that uses a monitor
NO PC told just w8 and w8 can run any monitor and this one at
1920 x 1080 @ 60 Hz (Full HD) , all day long, automatically.
if the PC has a DP port there, does it? if no , oops!
monitors are not PCs, monitors do not compute they are displays only.
the PC can PnP that monitor and the monitor tells the OS what it is and PNP magic sets the limits to above max resolution. or less

by you. a free manual below, and this MON only has a DP port
most PCs do not, so an adapter must be bought.
DP = display port (jacks/cables)
say dvi or hdmi to DP so the monitor can be used.

PnP = plug and Play.

SOURCE: Have a Hp L1925 lcd monitor that the green power

Most common failure in the LCD monitors are bad capacitors (bulging top/seal or leaking) in the power supply, failed inverter circuits (blown fuse, shorted transistors, shorted/open transformers), bad lamps (poor solder connections or worn out lamps). You will need to open it up and inspect the inside, see example of failed HP and other monitors to get some ideas what to look for: http://s807.photobucket.com/home/budm/allalbums
Post back what you see inside so we can guide you further and it will help out other people in the future also.

SOURCE: HP f2105 21" LCD Monitor is going to sleep after 2 sec.

Try it on another PC so we can narrow down the problem before taking the monitor apart. Please post back. It can be the setting on your PC, vide card problem, need to narrow down first. I will be working a third one of this model tomorrow and I will upload the pictures of what inside tomorrow.

How to open the cover to reach the power supply unit. Monitor switches off every other hour by itself.

Look at this page

and see if your monitor is put together similarly.

I accidentally hit the auto-adjustment button on my monitor. Now, the an inch of of my screen from left to right is black. Not even my mouse can go into the black space.

Did you try hitting the Auto adjust again to possibly shut it off. Quite often the buttons work as off and on buttons such as the Caps Lock. you hit it and it's on. You hit it again. It's off. If you hit the Auto adjust it might shut off and re-adjust your screen to the original setting you had. ....don't forget that you made other adjustments to compensate for the mal adjustment that will need to be fixxed. good luck.

Monitor does not come on after computer changes from sleep mode

Pressing the space bar or moving the mouse will bring the computer out of sleep.
But if the monitor is still off then possibly the monitor has gone to sleep. Restart the monitor.

Scroll down to the subheading - User Guide
Click on the appropriate Windows operating system you are using,
Windows 7, or Windows 8.

Both User Guides are PDF files.
The computer you are using now has Adobe Reader on it, which uses PDF files.
Allow the PDF file to download all the way.

Then go to the Top Left corner, and hover your mouse cursor on it.
You will see > Toggle Sidebar < will briefly appear.
Left-click on Toggle Sidebar

There will now be two icons;
Show Thumbnails on the left, and Show Document Outline on the right.......
Click on > Show Document Outline.

Scroll down the list. Click on the subheading >
Using the action keys.
(The Action keys are the F keys at the top of the Keyboard.
F1 through F12)

Here we see you hold down on the Fn key, (Bottom of Keyboard, second key from Left); and AT THE SAME TIME, tap on the F3 key. The F3 key is the Increase Brightness key.

Does not work?
Then you have a problem with the Backlight, in the LCD screen.

A primer before I go on........

An LCD screen does not produce light. It needs an additional light source.
A Backlight is the additional light source.

A Backlight can be a CCFL, (Or more than one), or a series of LED's.
(Light Emitting Diode)

A CCFL is a Cold Cathode Fluorescent Lamp. (Bulb)
Similar to Fluorescent lighting used in homes, and businesses; but on a MUCH smaller scale.
Average thickness is 2mm. That is a little larger than 1/16th of an Inch.
Average length is almost as long, as the LCD screen is in height.

CCFL backlighting uses a Screen Inverter.
LED backlighting GENERALLY does not use a screen Inverter.
(First models with LED backlighting seemed to use a screen Inverter. Newer models do not)

Your HP 450 Notebook PC uses LED backlighting.
Here we can see an LCD screen replacement example,

https://www.laptopscreen.com/English/model/HP-Compaq/HP~3115m~E-450/

NOTE -> Backlight type: LED
It does NOT use a screen Inverter.
How do I know? I'm looking at the Service Manual right now.
(I use two monitor screens)

You can also look at the Service Manual. It's Free, and available in the Manuals download page where you started.

On the Manuals download page, scroll down to the subheading >
Service and maintenance information.
Click on the blue >
HP 450 Notebook PC and HP 455 Notebook PC - Maintenance and Service Guide (26 Apr 2013)

Page 31 - Display assembly subcomponents

The LED backlighting is built into the LCD screen.
To replace the backlight, you replace the LCD screen.
Need step by step guidance with this, please post back in a Comment.
IT'S EASY.

BRAND NEW MONITOR OUT OF THE BOX? DRIVER WILL NOT LOAD. DRIVER WONT LOAD FOR HP W2007 WIDE LCD MONITOR (32 BIT) HAVE DISK. (STILL WILL NOT LOAD)

This monitor doesn't need a driver installed. If you can see an image on it, you don't need the driver for it. Windows will install the default monitor driver, and that works for 99.99% of monitors on the market. You need to go into the Display control panel and change your resolution. If the monitor's native resolution isn't available as an option in the control panel, it's because your video card can't display it, not the monitor's fault.
