The phone you have, only can reach the internet over the phone provider. And I think you only have limited access, because your phone on G 2 only can use WAP 2.0/xHTML and has Adobe Flash Lite.
There is NO WiFi in your Phone, so that is impossible to use for internet connection.
Perhaps now it is time to start saving for a smart phone?

Thanks for visiting FixYa!

What most people don't know about 'Unlocked' phones is that they may be 'unlocked' to use a different SIM card for calling but they are still programmed to the Internet Gateway of the original cellular company who sold the phone.

So, you'll need to re-program the phone's Data connections to access the Internet through Consumer Cellular's Gateway.

Contact Consumer Cellular's Customer Support Dept., and ask for Tech Support assistance. They can assist you in reprogramming your phone to work on their system.

How do i reprogram my 5300 ?

Hi,

For you to reprogram your Nokia 5300, you need to have usb cable (the one compatible for your handset), fully charged battery, stable internet connection, and NOKIA SOFTWARE UPDATER, this software does not just update your handset it also correct the errors of your handset. You can download this software through Nokia's website on the support section of your handset. Just install this software into your computer and follow all the instructions. Please don't forget to connect to the internet first before running the application.

Cheers!

Reprogram my router

Theres no need to "Reprogram" your router.
A) Remove the power cable from the back of your router.
B) "Reboot" your DSL modem. In some cases there is a reset button on the bottom or back of the DSL modem. In other cases you must remove the power cord then remove the battery - then put it back together.
C) One the DSL modem has power, restore power to the router.
D) I would at this point reboot your PC in case a new IP was assigned (Unlikely, but to be safe)

Reprogramming

Open Internet explorer and type the ip address of the router in the address bar and hit enter. (it should be 192.168.1.1) The setup page for the router should open. Click "Advanced" then click "ISDN Configuration" then click "ISDN Parameters" You can enter the new SPID's the phone company gives you there. Good Luck, El Duderino
