check how much difference in the bell housing area of the motors as it may be possible to do a straight engine swap. Contact your local holden car club as there are members who will have tried everything and can advise you on what is possible.
What year is this vehicle ?? holden is a GM product and as such we do not have these V8 motors in europe ,well anything over a 1000cc as the price of fuel but the astra /vectra /zafiro range from around 2002 or so had the engine computer bolted to the manifold and from the description this is whats happens to the se cars here in europe when the computer starts to play up along with the ABS and antiskid lights and engine symbol with the spanner through it comes on
