I've cleaned and check the top lid, cleaned the body. You can hear both clicks when the lid goes down and when you insert the body. Although the light is on, the grinder does not work. What other options are there to fix the problem?

Washing machine not taking in water

Check the inlet valve screens, in back. Clean them out. If you are inclined to checking the solenoid coil resistance, make sure they are not open or shorted out. Also, check the lid switch, sometimes the kid switch goes bad, do you hear it "click" when the lid is closed?

Washer fills up with water but does not start to wash/agitate

if you don't hear the motor running you have a bad lid switch,if you do hear the motor but no agitation you have a broken motor coupling.
most likely you have a broken lid switch, close the lid, then open it around 6 inches, close it and open it a few times,as you do this if you don't hear a clicking sound the switch is bad, part number 8054980 and it's around 25 dollars.

watch this video, when you click on it look down on the left side it will say replacing new style, click on it and it will show you your model.it will show you how to make sure it's the lid switch but if you don't hear any clicking when you open and close the lid the switch is bad, also if the lid is pushed in from putting the laundry basket on top of it open the lid and wack the center of the lid to pop it back up,i've done this before when the lid is dented in and this fixes the problem, the arm that's connected to the lid doesn't hit the switch correctly with the lid dented in but usually the switch is bad and needs to be replaced.

WASHING MACHINE stopped in mid-cycle

if it stops at the drain and spin cycle check the lid switch, open the lid,set the washer to spin cycle and pull out the timer knob, stick a screw driver into the hole where the strike from the lid goes into and push down,if you don't hear a clicking sound when you push down on the switch in the hole then you have a bad lid switch but if your machine does run sometime it sounds like the switch will work if you push down on it,could be cracked where the screws go into it.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V5aW9WkTFhE watch video on how to replace it.if you do hear a clicking sound when you open and close the lid or push down with the screw driver you could have a bad timer but check the lid switch first

My washer stops working after it finishes agitating and goes into the pump out cycle. The timer just stops. I tried in all cycles and the results are the same

Sounds like the lid switch ( under the control panel if no strike on the lid and a hole in the top Under the right side of the case if there is ). Lift the lid and you should hear a click when you lift about 3 in . If no click then the lid switch is bad and must be replaced.

My Kenmore 22712 Top load will agitate, but when it switches to the spin cycle I get nothing. The motor wont run and the tub doesn't spin.

open the lid a lttle and close it down a few times,if you don't hear a clicking sound when it closes you have a bad lid switch,or open the lid and stick a screw driver in the hole where the piece on the lid goes down into when the lid is closed, if it doesn't click and the machine doesn't run then the lid switch is bad.,they don't want the machine to run with the lid open when it goes into the spin cycle,if you send the full model number located beneath the lid when it's open on the back panel under the lid.let me know how you make out

When it comes on and fills with water it stops working, and you cant drain it

The lid switch is the most likely the problem. you should hear a "click" when you open, and when you close the lid. If you dont hear a "click", check the lid switch. It is located inside the control panel. remove the screw in the back of each end cap, they are at a slight angle. remove the 2 hex-head screws at the top-rear of the control panel, then slide the panel toward you and set the panel down on the timer knob. the lid switch is on the left in the cabinet top. make sure its seated and clips in place. they are plastic, and the "bracket" on them break and dont stay down. if this is the case, replace the lid switch. If the lid switch is ok, you have a bad timer.

Will not spin clothing out

do you hear it click when closing the lid ? Sometimes , the lid switch arm , will work inserting something into it , but not with the lid closed . Try checking it using the lid itself . sometimes , the arm wears to where it has to be pushed farther down to work so the actuator on the lid cannot push it far enough down . Have to replace the lid switch for it to work properly or bypass the lid switch from under the console .

LSQ9549LWO WHIRLPOOL WASHING MACHINE TOP LOAD NO SPIN @ RINSE CYCLE

You could have a bad lid switch or the hinge may need to be bent to make better contact with the switch. If your washer has a oval cut out on the right side and an actuator on the rt side of the lid... the next time it acts up don't open the lid and turn the tub, simply push down on the rt side of the lid, if it starts to work replace the lid switch. If there is no hole or actuator on the rt side, then the lid switch is on the back left corner, when you open and close the lid you should hear a click. If you don't hear a click or if you hear it when the lid is almost closed you need to adjust the hinge. There are 2 screws on the back of the endcaps on the control panel remove them and flip up the control panel, use a screwdirver to pop out the spring clamps on the rt and lt sides of the top panel. approx 3-4 inches from the sides. just insert the tip into the front most part of the clamp and pry back. unclip the lid switch, and pull the cabinet forward. You should be able to bend the hinge a little so it makes better contact with the lid switch. hope this helps.

Washer will not start

It sounds like the lid switch may be bad or have come loose. Open the lid and there should be a thing on the underside that pokes into the washer when you close it. At the place where it pokes into the washer you should see the top of the lid switch and it should be flush with the washer body. Stick a screwdriver into that hole to push down the switch and it should click. Pull the screwdriver out and it should click again. If it does click then close the lid slowly and listen closely near the switch to see if you still hear the clicking.

If you don't hear the clicking, then you will have to change the lid switch (usually costs about 30-50 dollars) or just bypass it. If you do bypass it, be careful. It will still spin even with the lid open and can be dangerous.
