How do i solve this factorial equation? 8!/5!x3!

How to calculate 8!/(5!3!)?
For small numbers (8,5,3) you can use the factorial function key (I will tell you later how to access it) and enter 8! divided by 5!, divided by 3! For numbers greater than or equal to 70 you cannot calculate the factorial: the result is too large for the calculator's memory.

However the formula you wrote is an instance of a combination 8C5 or 8C3 (they have the same value.
Most scientific calculator have three functions: the n Factorial n!, the Combination function nCr and the permutation function nPr.

  1. Turn Calculator ON
  2. Select the Run icon and press EXE.
  3. In Run Screen Press the OPTN key
  4. Press F6> to pan to the other tabs
  5. Press F3:Prob
The first tab (F1) is marked x!.That is the factorial.
The tab (F2) is marked nPr is for the permutations
The tab (F3) is marked nCr and it corresponds to the combinations.

To use nPr or nCr you enter the larger number n, you press the F key under nPr or nCr. If you press F2 you see a fat P, if you press F3 you see a fat C. Complete by entering the value of r (the smaller number)
If your problem corresponds to Select 8 objects, 5 at a time regardless or order (combinations) you type 8 F3 5 and EXE Result is 56.

How do you solve 7!-5!?

First of all, you are not trying to solve. You are trying to calculate.
If your calculator is a scientific calculator, you must have a key for the factorial function. It should be marked n! or x!.
Enter the number whose factorial you want then press the [n!] key.
7[n!] [-] 5 [n!] =
The esult should be 4920
On graphing calculators look for the factorial function under a Prob(ability) menu

How do i find !

The symbol is used to represent the factorial function. That function appears in probability theory, so you will find it under the Prob menu.

Turn Claculator ON
If you see no icons, press the MENU key.
Press 1 to select Run/Matrix home screen.
Press the OPTN key
Press F6> to move to the next page of TABS.
The probability Menu is activated by pressing the F3 key.
The factorial function is shown at the bottom of the screen as x!
Enter the number whose factorial you want to calculate, and press F1.
The calculator cannot calculate the factorial of numbers larger than 69.

Note: If you have to calculate permutations and combinations, do not use the definition in terms of factorials. Rather, use nPr for permutations and nCr for combinations.

Hi, can i calculate the gamma function on a casio fx83-gt plus?

Let us first call each thing by its name. If you are looking for the Gamma function , the one defined by the integral from 0 to infinity of t^(n-1) *e^(-t), look no further. It it does not exist on your scientific calculator.
However, if you are looking for the factorial function ( the !) then you can access it by pressing [SHIFT][x^-1].

It is true that the Gamma function reduces to the factorial function when its argument is a positive integer, but I do not believe we should use the names indiscriminately. Sorry if that ruffles some feathers.

How do I do a factorial problem on a TI-30XA? for example 52!/5!

Two easy ways.

  1. You can use the factorial function, which is the shifted function of the 3 key. Calculate 52! and divide it by 5!.
  2. You can use the nPr function, which the is the shifted function of the 9 key. 52!/5! is 52 nPr 47 (47 is 52-5).
