I have issues with updates from Microsoft, Creative, and Dell all these seemed to affect the Webcam on my Dell Inspiron Laptop. Error reads "plug in supported webam". I have been through Dell Customer Support, and uninstalled and reinstalled program. Issue was resolved untill I rebooted. The same error message. Finally I went to Video Chat and noticed that is working in this mode. Shutdown PC and the sane error reappears. Again I opened the Vidoe Chat and made minor adjustments to settings only to proceed via Video Chat. I never signed up for account, but opened Webcam Central and WHAALAHH, it works fine now. However, when it is working, I usually exit Laptop by using "hibernate" in order to keep it working. If your camera works in Video Chat you should be able to fix, I hope.

I am using Windows XP.
Laptop model: Dell Inspiron 1525.
Issue: Webcam driver from the installation CD throwed Error.
I downloaded it from Internet which again throws the same error.
The Webcam is integrated into my laptop.
Its not externally connected.
The issue is not with the Device, it is with the driver. May be some permission issues for the user.
I couldn't figure out the issue still.
Please let me how i can resolve this.
Your going to have to take off the keyboard to do this but check to make sure that the wire for the webcam is connected to the motheboard.
Not sure which driver you were using, are you running windows xp or vista?
