It started with 4-5 black lines in lower half of picture, then I switched it off and removed it from service, then we watched on 74cm Telefunken tv, but now that has failed, ic on board "N451" blew. Then I switched back to the Tedelex which now has these horizontal lines over the entire screen.

It sounds as you desribe, the vertical output IC and or the b+ feed capacitor off the Hi voltage transformer feeding the vert. IC its required voltage. Not a really hard job to replace, but not for a handi person to do. This should be left to the professional, as there are no user serviceable parts inside this set and with the HI voltage and the safety issues its best to call somesone to assist you with this repair. Good Luck

your tv is having horizontal problem take it to a tech in order that the hrizontak deflection circuit be checked it also might have abad yoke

Hi, your correct it is collapsed vertically, you should have re-soldered it before it failed because now you may have to replace the IC but I would re-solder it first as this possibly will fix it, look for a small aluminum (silver colored) heatsink with a black 7-10 pin IC screwed onto the heatsink, flip the main board over and this IC will probably have 2-3 (or more) pins broken, re-solder with 60-40 tin/lead solder, you didn`t give make & model number so thats all the info I can give you, good luck, BMW Rider

A line on an LCD, either horizontal or vertical usually means the video driver board is defective or the screen is defective, does it show up as black even on a dark screen? That means a line of LCD "shutter"s is not working and there is a problem that cant be fixed by a reboot or channel change. Bummer.

Check the connector of the crt maybe got a resistor open or a transistor in short circuit.
