I can only guess since you have not given the make and model, F8 is failed ERC (electronic range control), but it's also lots of other things depending on the make.

What is an f8 eror code mean? We had a power surge now the oven don,t work at all but the burners do?

First, clear the error by unplugging the range (or turning off the circuit breaker) for 15-30 minutes. For ranges manufactured by GE, the F8 code indicates that the incorrect voltage is being seen at the electronic oven control board (EOC or clock). If the error after cycling the power, you need to replace the electronic control board. For Maytag ranges, the F8 indicates a problem with the electronic relay board. Again the part has to be replaced if the error persists.

Please add a comment with the model number of the range for information on the part number and pricing for the control board, if it is available. I hope this helps.

Jenn-air w276w oven gives error code F8 and beeps continously. How to reset?

F8 means "Analog / Digital problem" and it means that you have to replace to replace you display board. You can try to find a circuit breaker on a side of your house and switch it off and back on (should be a double breaker, at least 40 amps).

F8 code on my frigidare double oven after cleaning with self cleaning oven ....know this is in the lock but need to know how to fix it myself left it unpluged overnight plugged back in and its still f8...

Hi

Yes F8 is oven door lock error warning.

You need to physically check the door switches and lock relay, these will be inside the oven casing.

It is probably not the easiest of diy jobs as everything is concealed.

Kenmore Gas oven is giving F8 error code

Unfortunately the F8 usually means an EEPROM data shift error. Try turning the power on and off several times. If error continues, you have no choice but to replace the ERC. Check on line for the best price. There is a group in the Chicago area that repairs ERCs. Check them out at www.cgiltd.com The failure of the your power system may have been associated with a surge either as the power went off or when it came back on. It may have been the surge that did the damage.
