Your Favorites are located in the Map directory in the TomTom.
For example if your using the North American map (North_America).
In a file named MapSettings.cfg.
When you update the map and some times the application this file is overwritten.
I recommend copying the file to the root directory of the TomTom or your computer if changes are made. That way you have a easy back-up of your favorites file.

Unfortunately to recover your old file you may damage other file in the process.

I hope this helps.

You have the option of unchecking items you don't want installed and updated every time you connect to TomTom Home. Reset the entire unit and update again to fix the error

SOURCE: tom tom one won't down load home automatically

First BACKUP your SD card.
Go here and download latest version of TomTom HOME >> For the PC or for the MAC , You can download tomtom HOME here > http://uk.support.tomtom.com/cgi-bin/tomtom_uk.cfg/php/enduser/std_adp.php?p_faqid=7408&p_created=1184659653&p_sid=PmvpQQmj&prod_lvl1=&prod_lvl2=&cat_lvl1=&p_accessibility=0&p_redirect=&p_lva=&p_sp=cF9zcmNoPTEmcF9zb3J0X2J5PSZwX2dyaWRzb3J0PSZwX3Jvd19jbnQ9MjE1LDIxNSZwX3Byb2RzPSZwX2NhdHM9JnBfcHY9JnBfY3Y9JnBfcGFnZT0xJnBfc2VhcmNoX3RleHQ9ZG93bmxvYWQgaG9tZQ**&p_li=&p_topview=1

I would recommend you only do a map upgrade if you definatly need to as looking at other posts on this forum lots of people have problems after trying to update maps.
Updating maps is NOT FREE , you have to pay for updates and after downloading updates you need to reactivate the map with your product code . Only do an update after backing up your existing maps other sie you might have trouble reverting back if the download goes wrong.

GOOD LUCK

Just purchased and trying to update device. will not link to computer.

suggest removing old software for tomtom one in control panel or settings panel of p.c. and installing matching software for the new 1505m.
on another forum this software was recommended to remove the old tom tom drivers
http://www.revouninstaller.com/revo_uninstaller_free_download.html

the find latest software on link below

http://www.tomtom.com/en_gb/localechange.jsp?referrer=https://tomtom.com/en_gb/mytomtom/getstarted/

The device needs updating to download the latest speed camera locations, speed limit changes and if you buy it the latest maps.

Tom.tom does not warn you the speed limit

Maybe you've forgot to set up this option...
In SETTINGS > STATUS BAR PREFERENCES at the SPEED (that shows your actual speed) you have to have displayed the SPEED LIMIT also. If this last one doesn't appear it means it is not available for the road you are on.
Check if your map(s) are updated and your software too.

How do you control volume on tom tom 130?

Hi,

With the unit turned on and displaying the map, tap the bottom left side of the screen.

A sliding bar will appear at the bottom of the screen. You can now adjust the volume to your desired level.

The volume menu is also available by tapping and entering 'Preferences menu'. You can also set the volume from here if you wish.

Thanks for using FixYa.

I need help on changing to the us My tom tom is on a different country

You will need to Purchase and load required US MAP(s) via 'TOM TOM HOME'.
When the new MAPs are registred to your device, you can then use the 'Change preference' -> manage Maps -> Switch Map -> then select the appropriate 'registred' US MAP.

Please note: always backup your GPS via 'Tom Tom Home' backup utilities first!
If you have limited storage, you may need to delete your existing map(s), that were previously back-up, before loading the US Maps

I think I deleted the actual program on my tom tom ONE 130! It will only give me an orange screen with a red X and a flashing disk in the bottom left hand corner now. What can I do to fix this?! ?!

If you wisely made a backup of your device using 'Tom Tom Home', use the 'RESTORE' option!

Otherwise try 'Tom Tom Home' while connected to the Internet and select 'Update' my One: it should re-load and update all missing components (including the MAP) that your machine is allowed to have.
