SOURCE: where do i access drivers for my hitachi hdc-1005e

On Windows 7 you do not require a driver for this camera. Switch the camera on, plug it into the USB cable, plug the other end of the cable into a spare USB port, on the camera LCD screen, select "PC", Windows will then see your camera as a portable drive, simply copy the photos from that drive into your photo folder.

Can i download software for my hitachi hdc-1296er

You don't need any special software.
The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or, despite what said first, you can use any photo cataloging program, such as Picasa.

I have a hitachi camera model HDC-1291E. When I click for a snap, it is automatically powered off. It happens more when I use camera flash. How to get rid off this?

Try replacing the batteries, it is evident the camera is not getting enough power, especially when you run the flash, this should address the issue.

My hitachi hdc-991e camera turns itself off after i take photos

It's bad/weak batteries. I had the same problem using Hyundai batteries, thought the camera had broken until I used Duracel instead and it worked as it should. Batteries don't last long in digital cameras full stop, but decent brands like Duracel will help.

HITACHI HDC-531E

I have the same problem. My research suggests that a battery for the Konica Minolta NP-900 may do the trick. The dimensions and configuration look the same as that for the Hitachi HDC-531E.
I've ordered a cheap one from Hong Kong and will let you know whether it works once I've tried it out, Fingures crossed!
