My new 561 won't power up. I have 12 volts at the plug.

My 561 is installed on my boat and when I went to run through the simulation as suggested, it won't power up. I measured 12.4 volts on the power plug. What should I try next?

SOURCE: installing tv in boat

You can But I would not connect it directly unless I had a regulator or isolation device between the set and the boats power. if your boat has 110 volt capability just be safe and use the adaptor.

SOURCE: Wring for trolling motor

just hook the two batteries up in series. To do this buy one short cable and use it to hook the positive of one of the batteries to the negative pole of the other. Then use the two remaining poles, one positive and one negative to hook up to the motor. good luck

SOURCE: I have a Coleman Powermate 5000 / No power output

Two suggestions. One: check for voltage from the secondary coil wires (if it has one). Two: unless stated do not do this, I have always flashed the excitor circuit through the 120vac receptical. Give these a shoot and I hope it works for you.

I have a 1999 Ford f350 V10 with a po118 code

P0118 - Engine Coolant Temperature (ECT) Circuit High Input Indicates the sensor signal is greater than Self-Test maximum. The ECT sensor maximum is 4.6 volts or -50°C (-46 °F). Note on some vehicles that are not equipped with an ECT sensor, CHT can be used and can set this DTC.
  • Open circuit in harness
  • Sensor signal short to power
  • Damaged PCM
  • Improper harness connection
  • Damaged sensor
  • Using signal simulation, disconnect sensor and simulate 1.0V on sensor signal circuit. Simulated 1.0V signal and scan PID voltage value should be similar. If voltage is similar check sensor, if voltage is not similar check related circuit and PCM

12 24 SYSTEM 2 BATTERYS BOTH WIRED SEPARATE GOING TO THE BOW OF BOAT 4 HOLE PLUG 3 WIRES GOING TO TROLLING MOTOR 12 24 SWITCH 12 OFF 24 ONLY RUNS ON 12 AND STOPS ON OFF BUT NOTHING ON 24

It is likely to be a function of the switch to place both batteries in parallel in the 12 volt position and in series in the 24 volt position - this is likely to make the switch and the wiring fairly complicated as the motor could be wired internally in a variety of ways and the switch will also need to send the right voltage down the right wires.

I suggest you first ensure both batteries are fully charged and in good order. Once you are certain of that it is time to inspect the switch and wiring and test the voltages. A wiring diagram would make the task much easier.

Wanting to install motorguide 24v trolling motor in boat, will it work on just 12 v system

No. you can put in extra batteries and use it, but you must remove you charging system from them to use it that way. Not really practical.

Can i run my minn kota 30 trolling off my power box

Are you referring to an inverter by a "power box"? That term doesn't really describe the device. I'm going to assume it's an inverter you're talking about, a device that takes DC and turns it into AC. I'm not sure about that, but you should be able to plug a converter (turns AC into DC) of the right voltage, 12 to 14 volts DC into a generator on the boat and run it. I'm assuming the trolling motor runs off 12 volts DC and NOT gasoline. Be sure to check that before doing anything. Most do run off a large car or RV battery. Lead Acid Batteries for boats and cars produce 12.7 volts DC if they are in good shape and should have six cells (about 2volts per cell). 6 volt batteries are somewhat rare these days and have 3 two volt cells. Two of them in series will also power it.
Thanks for asking that question ... I like to fish also.

Where can I find a wiring diagram to install a generator into a boat? I know how to wite the 110 volt side but where do I connect the 12 volt power from the generator into the 12 volt distribution panel?

Installing a generator into a boat is critical to be done correctly. You need to contact the manufacturer of your generator for approval, and wiring diagrams. If done incorrectly (which if you are connecting 12v from gen), you may create eddy fields that can cause galvanic corrosion, not to mention electrical shock hazards.

If your generator isn't marine rated, then don't install it into a boat.

Portable generators can be used, but don't hardwire those into a boat. Just use extension cords to the appliances you want to power.

Garmin gps 12 wont turn on.

Sorry to hear of the dead units. Are you using the correct power cable with a small hole in the centre of the plug? The GPS 12 is strictly limited to 7 volts only. The accessory cigarette lighter cable for this model has a circuit inside to drop the voltage from 12 to 7. Cannot be fixed. There would have been a plastic peg in the back of the GPS socket to prevent anything but the correct voltage Garmin cable being plugged in. Unfortunately these pegs are easily broken off. Yes, they are a good little unit even though well on in years. The next model up - the 12XL - can accept a wide voltage range and does not have the plastic peg.

All the best, Tony at KiwiGPS.
