SOURCE: LG front load washer wont drain and makes loud
Sounds like the impeller has come off the pump motor shaft. If you push it back on, it will just fall off again. You will need to replace the pump motor. Let me know the model number you have if you'd like detailed instructions on how to replace it. (instructions are a bit lenghty, and I'd rate the repair about a 6.5 or 7 on a 1 - 10 difficulty scale.)
SOURCE: lg ft load washer stops makes humming noise and
interferince from motor to drive probley pump
SOURCE: spin cycle appears to be broken. washer just hums
Humming can indicate a stalled motor...If a coin is jammed in the pump impeller it will often do what you describe...Check via pump filter access door...Good luck....Nomess

Hi Charlie,
We too have an LG - purchased purely because its "drum is directly driven by a motor" and NOT driven by rubber belts which are slower and can wear and break and are noisy - It is ABSOLUTELY CRUCIAL that ALL washing machines on EARTH are LEVEL or else ALL H*LL will break loose! The LG machine is SCREAMING to be LEVELED!
Use a spirit level sitting on top of the machine to check that your LG is NOT sloping is level if NOT then adjust the feet accordingly. Check your machine for level VERTICALLY and also level from FRONT TO BACK. This is a B*STARD of a job to do. If you can't be bothered with it or don't have cash to buy a spirit level then ask around for a local retired handy person who would be thrilled to do it for you in exchange for a few PINTS OF BEER. Also take care that your Washing Machine
DRUM is NOT overloaded or OUT-OF-BALANCE - evenly distribute YOUR WASHING in it. FINGERS CROSSED. ;)
