Display shows SHORTED PROBE

When lincoln pizza oven shows shorted probe, this is a fault message which is not difficult to solve. You only need to replace the probe and it will be ok. this means that the probe is kaput and should be replaced.
The probe is inserted in main pan chamber next to the burner.Open the back cover unclip the probe from the holder and pull it backwards into to the control box chamber. On replacing the probe make sure only the thin part wire like of the probe goes into the heating chamber. make sure that bulb remains inside the control box chamber otherwise it would go kaput again.

The probe doesn't work on my JT912 GE wall oven

Test Continunity for your Probe, if it has good continuity, then you have a internal issue with the Oven... More than likely, you are going to need a Technician

Probe light on convection oven stays on. Clock won't display. Oven still works though.

Sounds like the control board is not communicating correctly with the rest of the unit, consult a professional.

Whirlpool Range model RF386PXGQ2 broiler won't shut off

Hi.

If the element does not turn off, possible faults are:

Shorted temperature probe.
Test temperature probe reading impedance. If impedance is zero or lower than 0.500 Ohms, the the probe is shorted. A good probe reads about 1KOhms.

Contact at element. A contact in element wiring harness may cause the element to stay on. Do continuity test between ground and element and on wiring harness.

Defective control module.
If problem is none of the above, then it is the oven electronic control(ERC). The ERC can be tested reading voltages.

Testing must be done by a trained technician.

Kitchen Aid Oven - Superba Selectra- receive

Hi,

Here is what Kitchen Aid says about F4:

F4 Meat probe shorted
1. Disconnect meat probe and measure probe resistance (78kω at 60° F [15.6° C],
37kω at 90° F [32.2° C]).
2. If resistance is not valid replace probe.
3. Insert probe and check for a firm connection between probe and jack (in oven cavity).
4. Check connection between jack and harness (in rear of oven).

It sounds like the probe jack may be bad or the wiring between the jack and the control board above.

Superba convection oven probe display problem

I had a similar problem today with my KitchenAid Superba wall convection oven (2002 model). I was roasting tomatoes at 225 degrees F for 3 or 4 hours when the control pad changed and showed that the probe was in use (never have I used it and had to look for it). I, too, tried to plug in the probe and take it out, but nothing changed. My worry was that I could no longer use the timed bake function. After trying to reset by turning off the oven at the breaker, with no change, I turned on the oven to 400 F and left it on for 10 - 15 minutes hoping that the high temperature would dry out whatever moisture that must have gotten in the place where the probe connects. Then I turned it off and just waited. After a half hour or so the control pad cleared and nothing showed (that is what you want when the oven is off!). Everything is back to working now.

Kitchenaid KEMS308 display is saying "enter probe temp or remove probe" No probe is plugged in or has been used in a while. This message came up after cooking for about 3 1/2 hours at 300 degrees. Now...

Apparently this is to do with moisture having affected the oven adversely (I got this error message after baking 50 potatoes with all the steam that generated. Have a look at this page http://www.howtomendit.com/answers.php?id=162257 ....the solution is to set the probe for 160F then turn the oven on for 15 minutes or so at 450F. This apparently should dry out the probe position and all work again.....I am trying it now.....
