The
HP LaserJet Professional P1102w is a compact wireless desktop printer. It is very easy to set up and use. Unlike larger HP printers, the P1102w does not even have a true operation panel; it only has a power button, a cancel button, and a wireless button.
However, like just about every other HP printer, the P1102w has the ability to print out a configuration page that displays many of the printer's settings and statistics. This page is called the
self test / device configuration page, and on it you can find the printer's page count, number of paper jams (broken down by section), amount of available memory, network settings, and more.
To print the device configuration page, make sure the printer is on and ready. The green light on the top left side of the printer should be lit. If the red light is lit or flashing, then there is a problem with the printer -- such as no toner or a paper jam -- and you won't be able to print the configuration page until the problem is rectified. You'll also need to have at least one sheet of paper loaded into the paper tray. Make sure the two side fences and the rear fence are snug against the paper to prevent misfeeding.
Press and hold the cancel button (the button with the red X on it) for about four seconds. The printer will warm up and begin making noise, and the green light will start to flash -- when these two things happen, you can release the cancel button. The printer will print out the configuration page, face down, and once it has finished the green light will stop flashing and the printer will quiet down.
