May I suggest the battery was very low. The Nikon delete routine shows a bright display after the file is deleted, this may take a bit of power. May I suggest you work on your files on your computer? That is, that the SD card out and work on the files on the computer. Now I suggest charging the camera and taking out the SD Card and then turning it on. If it works try it again with the SD card in.

SOURCE: camera frozen open, but isn't on

I also have this same problem - we bought a new camera after we were told that it would cost about the same to have it repaired as to buy new.

We just received our brand new canon t3i in the mail. We formatted the card (a 2GB 700X Professional High Speed Error Free (SD) Memory Card Class 10) and immediately started shooting to test out the...

Sounds like there was an error while the camera was writing information to the card. You can try reformatting the card using a computer and a card reader, then replace it in the camera and format it from the menu. If that doesn't work and the camera is locked up you can try to do a "hard reset" by following the instructions on page 176 of the camera manual.

Hi im using a canon digital ixus 9515 camera and I have the wrong date stamp on all my recent photos. How can I delete the date?

There is no way you can delete the date stamp from the photos you have taken.
For future photos you can either correct the date or disable insertion of date stamp.

I tried to put a new memory card into my coolpix s3000, but now it just stays in a weird frozen state with the lens extended. The screen is on, but it's black. I can't turn it on or off. Nothing I do...

Remove the battery and the camera will shut off. keep the battery off for 12 hours and reinsert back. Remove off the new memory card and switch on with a foramtted memory card.,, maybe the old If the camera resets back to life and functions well then checck if the new memory card has some virrus in the memory, if so scan and delete and format the card.
However if the fault still stays on then you have a fault in the main processor conttroller of the camera which will require extra help.
Hope you take this tip. credit me if this works.

I would try to replace the usb cable, but it sounds more like a software problem not the camera. If the camera shuts off during transmission it will keep the pictures from transporting.
