SOURCE: two sets Uniden phones with base, second handset: incompatible?

I had the same problem with a Uniden 3355 handset and 2355 base. With the new handset I pressed "Menu" and selected "System Reset". I then Selected "Deregister HS" and followed the prompts.
Once this was complete, I returned to "System Reset" and selected "Replacing Base". Following the prompts, when it said "Register Handset" I put it in the base of the 2355, and within a minute it had registered, so both handsets used the base of the 2355!

SOURCE: no electrical outlet available for the base station (wall mounted)

AFAIK there is no answering machine that will work without being connected to an electrical outlet, neither will the caller ID. The corded handset on the base unit will work, but that is it. The base uses the AC power to transmit and receive to/from the cordless so you won't be able to use the cordless handset with out the base being connected to AC.

How do I reset the message on my Uniden DECT 6.0 cordless phone?

Hello Miriam Taylor,

Listening to the message should be sufficient.

Mine wasn't a real message... I fat fingered the
base trying to INTERCOM to my wife's remote.

As I never intended to use my system as an answering
machine... I deleted it too...

If you look really closely at the 1,2,4 & 5 key on the touch pad of each wireless remote the (play) right arrow seen on the base
is adjacent to the 2 key... Press it...

Delete will be an OPTION above the SOFT keys associated with the menu words on your display... (off & message gone).

Then made sure MY ANSWER FEATURE was "OFF".

You will have to read the manual... (RTM, below).

Message access can be accomplished three ways...
at the Base, at any cordless station... and (off premises)
remotely from anywhere in the telephone network.

Hope this helps...

ELSE RTM.

How do you set up voicemail; on a uniden dect 6.0?

Which exact model Uniden DECT phone do you have? There are a number of models. Some require you to set up the answering machine from a handset. Other models have a Menu button on the base station, as well. The entire list of DECT phone manuals are here: http://www.uniden.com/scat/dectphones_mnl . They are listed in alphabetical and numerical order. Ignore any digits after the dash in the model number, that indicates the number of handsets in the original package. My experience with Uniden DECT phones includes systems where the menu is accessed from the base like the D3588, http://www.uniden.com/content/ebiz/uniden/resources/ownersmanuals/D3588om.pdf .

The following directions work for the Uniden systems that I have used to set up the . First make sure that the answering system is on at the base station and the phone is in standby. Next press the Menu/Select button and use the Up/Down arrows to navigate to Answering Setup. Press Menu/Select to enter the submenu. Then navigate to the different options in this menu and press Menu/Select to enter them.

To record a greeting message, navigate to Record Greeting. Press Select and wait for the "Record Greeting" response. Speak your greeting clearly (between 2 and 30 seconds) and press Select to Stop the recording. You'll hear the greeting repeated. Press End (on the handset) or Stop/Cancel on the base to interrupt the playback.

Next press the Phone Book button to go back up to the Answer Setup menu. Select Greeting Options to switch greetings (if your model has a default greeting). Use Select to switch between greetings. (Arrow keys to swap; Select to confirm.) Use the Ring Time option to select how many rings before the unit picks up. If you wish to use the answering system when you are away, make sure to set up a Security code and press Select to confirm the code. Make a note of the code. Press End to exit the menu system.

Note: if you have Voicemail from your telephone provider, you will need to ensure that your Uniden phone picks up before the Voicemail service.

I hope this helps.

We have a Uniden DECT 6.0 series phone and voicemail service through AT&T. For some reason, the base answering system has been picking up calls, seemingly at random. Sometimes the base picks up, s

Hi Jessica,

I would suggest contacting Uniden rather than AT&T. I included their contact information below as well as 3 issues that may be going on here.

Ask a Question: http://mycusthelp.net/UNIDEN/_cs/QuestionAsk.aspx?sSessionID=&

1. Are you getting messages? If not, the voicemail may have set to "Announce Only." This means the Answering system will answer the call, but will not allow callers to leave a message. If so, there may be an LED "A" lit up on your base. You can change this setting in the Answ setup --> record time.

2. Does it occur after a particular number of rings? You can set the voicemail to answer after 2, 4, or 6 rings. This may be the problem.

3. Does the phone ring at all? It is possible the phone is in Silent Mode. You can set silent mode to last anywhere between 1-9 hours or keep it on all the time. If it is set to a particular number of hours, the phone will exit silent mode automatically. If not, you need to hold # to deactivate it. I don't think you can set silent mode to turn on automatically on a schedule, but this is something you could ask Uniden about.

I hope that helps. Good Luck!

I have the uniden dect 6.0 3 handset. I lost my manuel and do not know how to record my answer message

Which specific Uniden DECT 6.0 phone do you have? There are a number of them. Uniden has the manuals available here: http://www.uniden.com/bin/venda?ex=co_disp-view&bsref=uniden&scat=dectphones_mnl . Phones are listed in alphabetical and numerical order.

If the answering system is off, turn it on before proceeding to the following steps.

If you are at home, there are usually two methods to access the answering system. Some Uniden phones let you set the outgoing message from the base or the handset. Others will only let you set the message from the handset. (Calling in remotely is more complicated.)

To access the answering system menu from a handset, on some models, push the Mute/Messages button. Then let your current message play or press 5 to stop the recorded announcement. Then either use the up/down arrows to select Record New Greeting (or the number that matches the sub-menu item). It's number 8 on the DECT1480. Then wait for the prompt (tone or "Record Greeting") and then speak into the handset clearly. Press 8 to stop recording and press End to save the message. Press 6 to select the outgoing greeting if a default greeting is available.

On other Uniden DECT phones, press Menu and go to Ans Setup. Then choose the line for the greeting (if it's a multi-line phone) and then select Record Greeting. Press Start, wait for the prompt and then press Stop when done. Press Stop again to save the message. If there is an optional pre-recorded greeting, use the Greeting Option submenu to select the greeting to play. (This applies to the DECT4086.)

From the base, you'll do something similar. However, you should stay about 9" from the microphone while recording. Messages can be between 30 seconds and 3 minutes 30 seconds for most systems.

I hope this helps.

I cannot clear the red flashing message light from my phone. The answering system is off and it also states I have no messages. I have tried numerous times to clear any messages on the system, but again...

You have unheard messages on the voicemail system provided by your telephone company. This system records messages when someone calls while you're already on the phone. Please contact your telephone company for instructions on accessing their voicemail system.

Atlinks USA model 25951EE3-A records messages but does not ring or give dial tone on cordless handsets. Was unable to find online owners manual.

Place the handset in the Base station - NOT the Remote Charger. Wait 10 seconds for the phone to bond with the base station. The display will go on and off twice. Remove and you are on the way. Toy can do this for up to 4 phones I believe.
You will have to do this every time the the lights flicker or go out.

Also, press Menu on the Handset and use the + and - Keys at top to navigate through menu. Use the * key to exit.

TIP: If the lights quickly go off and on and the Answerer seems to be fouled up. Unplug the Base station for 10 seconds and plug it back in. All will be well again. You will have to re-bond the remote phones.

Merging 2 siemens gigaset 4215 systems (one base with 2 phones + 2 phones)

If you're trying to get 5 handsets to work with one base, it won't work. The 4215 can only handle 4 handsets, the base handset plus 3.

When I had to replace the base of my 4 handset system, the base handset still worked. Therefore I had an extra handset which couldn't be used. So I decided to buy another base. Now I have 6 handsets which can be grouped 4,2 or 3,3.
