Hi Charles, it's Jack at Dyson.

DC27 is engineered to adjust automatically for different floor types - there is no way of manually adjusting the height of the wheels or brush bar. The vacuum may need higher push force on certain types of deep pile carpeting. We would recommend checking directly with the carpet manufacturer for their advice on caring for this particular carpeting - manfacturers may recommend vacuuming some carpets with the brush bar turned off, and it may be worth giving this a try.

To turn off the brush bar, just use the brush control switch next to the red on/off switch:

How do i change the brush bar and belt on a dyson dc27

Hi there, it's Jack at Dyson.

DC27's brush bar is powered by a belt engineered to last the lifetime of the machine in normal use. Unlike a conventional vacuum cleaner belt we wouldn't usually expect it to need replacing, and therefore it's not designed to be accessible to the User.

If your DC27's brush bar won't rotate this may be caused by something simple, and we should be able to help you resolve this with some simple troubleshooting checks over the phone.

When you have your machines easily to hand, please give the Dyson Customer Helpline a call on 0800 298 0298 (UK), 1-866-693-9766 (US), 1-877-397-6622 (CA) or 1800 239 766 (AU).

We'll look forward to providing further assistance.

Dyson DC27 brush drum fails to rotate. Belt is fine.

Dc27 has a motor to spin the brush. It might be the brush bar motor or the power switch to the brush bar motor.

What is causing my dyson to be hard to push?

Hi Marie,

I'm sorry to hear you're having difficulties with your DC27. If the machine seems harder than usual to push, please check the soleplate is clean and undamaged. This online Support guide may help in locating and removing the soleplate:

http://support.dyson.co.uk/support/dc27/dc27-all-floors/my-machine-is-not-working/my-machine-is-dropping-debris-from-the-base/strong-suction/yes/is-the-soleplate-damaged

If there is a build-up of dirt on the outside of the soleplate, you can clean it by wiping it with a damp cloth - please ensure it's completely dry before replacing it on the machine.

If you find this doesn't resolve the issue, please get in touch with us directly so we can provide further assistance. You can call us on 0800 298 0298 (UK), or 1-866-693-9766 (US).

It doesn't work properly

Hi there,

I'm sorry to hear you're having difficulties with your DC27. If the suction relief valve is activating, you may have a blockage in the cleaner, and you may need to give the filter a wash. The easiest way to locate and remove any blockages is to follow the steps shown in our online support guide:

http://www.dyson.com/support/help.asp?article=1344&product=DC27-TC

In normal use, the filter should be washed at least once every 3-6 months. Use cold water without detergent, and allow at least 24 hours for it to dry completely before replacing it. For further guidance, please see the video linked below:

http://www.dyson.com/support/help.asp?article=1466&product=DC27-TC

I'm confident this should resolve your issue. However, if you'd like any further help or advice, please give us a call free on 08002980298 (UK), or 1866MYDYSON (US).

Kind regards,

Jack
