Long and short your home page has been hijacked. The previous responses are all correct and you need to follow their advice with one extra step. Every time you download or install software, do it slowly and carefully reading EVERY page/window that opens so you don't just keep hitting enter and key past the point where it says " hey sucker if you don't read this and say no we are going to make changes you don't want" and this is the gospel truth...

You might have the homepage set by default on statup, if you go to "Options", "Settings" and search for "On Startup" you can define a set of pages that open up when you use Google chrome. If you click "set pages" you can choose what appears, you can remove MSN.com and add Google.com.

Cheers!

MSN is not a browser so I will assume you mean that the browser opens to MSN's page when you open Chrome. If this is the case, simply type https://www.google.com/ in the address bar. When Google comes up, go to settings for Chrome and find the option for your home page and select the option of using the current page as your home page. Once you do this when you open Chrome it will take you to Googles home page. If this is not the problem, then please be more specific with your question

In the upper right hand side of Chrome, there is a menu.
Click it and go to:

Settings

Open a specific page or set of pages.Set pages

Click on the "Set Pages" button, and put what ever site you want to come up, in the box.

From what you are telling me, it will be currently set to MSN.

Microsoft sighn up is not loading

The MSN homepage is a Microsoft website that allows you to check up on the current news of the day, check your email, sign into your Windows MSN Messenger and much more.
Problems associated with loading your MSN homepage have to do with either your computer or Internet connection, or the connection on the msn.com home page.
Programs
Downloading and installing other programs may change your homepage.
This happens because certain programs have features such as add-ons and tool bars that may automatically change some of your settings.
Google and Yahoo commonly add features to their programs, and sometimes they will change your homepage.
You can fix this by opening your Web browser and clicking "Tools" and "Options" and changing your homepage to msn.com.

Firewall
Your anti-virus program sometimes blocks websites that it deems as dangerous or potentially threatening.
Open your anti-virus program and include msn.com on your Firewall's safelist of websites.

Cookies You might have to delete your MSN cookies in order to view the homepage.
Cookies typically store information from the websites you have visited.
You may have too many cookies stored on your computer to view the website properly.
You can do this by clicking "Tools" and "Options" and selecting "Cookies" from the "Privacy" tab.

Internet Browser

Go to your Internet browser and update to the newest version.
Web browsers frequently update the browsers to different versions, and you may be using an outdated version that is causing connection problems with the MSN homepage.

Google is a search engine not a browser.
You can run any browser such as Internet Explorer or Mozilla Firefox and get them to default to Google as the default search engine or you can save Google as a Favourite in IE or a Bookmark in Firefox.

To set Google as the default home page in IE.
Open Internet Explorer then enter www.google.com when Google page opens then Click on Tools - Internet Options
In the General tab click Use current.
Now when you open IE then Google automatically opens.

To set Google as the default home page in Firefox.
Open Firefox then enter www.google.com when Google page opens then Click on Tools - Options
In the General tab click Use current pages.
Now when you open Firefox then Google automatically opens.

If you are using any other browsers then setting up Google as the default page is configures in a similar method.

I get oops! This link appears broken. Happens with Google and Google Chrome. Could it be a virus? I also cannot search msn.com using Bing?

No, it is probably not a virus. Links are addresses for other pages that may not be typed correctly, or the web site/page was moved or no longer exists. (See below for clarification on unexpected results.) If you use MS Explorer, it allows you to choose primary search engines. After updating Explorer, you can keep Google as primary, but Bing will be easily accessed by clicking on the Google Icon in the search box. A menu will drop down and show Bing as an option. Also, you should be able to type Bing into any search engine and search from the Bing homepage. If you are clicking on a bing search on the MSN home page and being blocked, I'll betcha Microsoft would love to know that. Lastly, there is such a thing as Browser Hijackers. If you click on something or suddenly find yourself in an unexpected place after using a trusted search engine, that would be a hint. The solution is to keep all software updated to avoid lapses in security that allow Bugs into your system.

Search will work with google or msn but will not let me click on anything.Have to type in directly at the top to visit any site.

That sounds like a web browser issue, possibly a hijacker. I would try using another web browser. Also, I urge you to scan for viruses and spyware.
