Take something sturdy and hard but not sharp, such as a butter knife. Insert it under the front of the key just a little way, don't force it. Pull upwards gently. The key should pop off. You can clean them with gentle dish soap and wait until they completely dry, then put them back on. If the key is still sticky, take it off again and use a cotton swap dipped in alcohol (not dripping--rub against the inside of the bottle so it's just moist) and gently swab the area underneath the key. I have cleaned numerous keyboards because I have kids who share my desk tops and kids are frequently sticky. :)
Suzuki? keyboard? all sticky keys are dirty. some you can clean, others not. only way to tell is LOOK. if it can not be dissembled, then it can not. some keyboards, have no screws and use melted plastic or glue preventing any service. look. then see.
You need to buy Compressed Air, and blow it on your keyboard which will get the dirt out. Unless your keyboard is all sticky and stuff, it should work.
If it is really dirty and sticky you should get a new keyboard ;)
NYC Health Department forced many companies to replace all their keyboards and cover the new ones with keyboard plastics or plastic - it was the source of a huge percentage of germs.
Physically sticky keys because you spilled something on them or sticky keys keyboard shortcuts? The first you don't really unless you want to dismantle the keyboard and clean the entire thing (do-able but it would take you a long time and you risk breaking the pieces under each key) I would just buy a new keyboard on ebay for $15-30 and have someone replace it. Second, keyboard short cuts you can disable under Control Panel > Ease of Use > "Make the keyboard easier to use" and uncheck sticky keys.
Comment if you need more assistance and please rate the solution if you found it useful. Thanks, Justin
Depending on the keyboard, you may be able to remove the sticky keys to clean under them. This is typically caused by food or beverages being spilled into the keyboard.
If you can't clean the keyboard, or don't want too; hit Office Max or Staples. they typically have very cheap replacement keyboards.
If it is a laptop keyboard; you will have to find a replacement keyboard on EBay! or Amazaon.com by model number of the laptop.
I don't have that keyboard in front of me so I can't tell you if you can just clean it. Most keyboard you can't however and a sticky key means time for a replacement keyboard.
The sticky can be from a few things. Something spilled on the key is usually the one. Then you can have a mechanical problem such as the return spring (if it has them) popped out of place. And the third is just wear.
Usually not worth fixing a keyboard anymore. Replacement cost on even a good keyboard can be pretty low.
Chances are there is a physical problem with the keyboard. Are the
keys sticky or do they press normally and still not work? If the keys are sticky when you push them you can remove the keyboard and keys and try to clean the keys with rubbing alcohol. Chances are the keyboard is not defective and the link below will help you take care of that problem. If you need any further help let me know.
I'll start by telling you that most of the time keyboards don't recover from a spill. With that said, clean it by using a 50/50 rubbing alcohol in a spray bottle. Remove the keyboard from the machine, and spray the alcohol into the keyboard generously. Shake out the excess or blow it out with air, then use paper towels to daub up the rest. Repeat this process two or three times, then let the keyboard dry for a good 24 hours. While you have the keyboard off check for any juice or sticky areas in the machine, and clean them with the alcohol and Q-tips. Let this dry well also. After drying put the keyboard back on and try it. If you notice any sticky keys after using it for a while, then take the sticky keys off and clean them individually with the alcohol and Q-tips.
