Clean corona wire on brother printer hl-2170w

Hi There,

The Drum LED and the Error LED alternates turning on and off.

To reset the drum message:
Open the front door
Press and hold down the white button for about 4 seconds. Once all 4 LEDs are lit, release the button.
Close the front cover. Make sure that the Drum LED is now off.

The Corona wire is inside the drum unit, a small slide is there to allow you to move it back and forth. return it to it's home position when done.

Also, remove the toner and power on the machine. After a couple minutes, replace the toner and drum. This sometimes will clear up these "drum issues" Brother is famous for.

Hello,
If you are getting "clean corona wire" on your PC and the toner light on the machine is solid, you need to change your toner cartridge.
This is a bug in the brother software.

the fusing unit needs to be serviced, more than likely there is toner on the fusing heat roller, also look at the drum unit and see if there is any bad spots.you may have to replace the unit as a whole that is the toner,drum,developer unit.

When all lights flash it's a service problem. You press and hold the go button and see what lights are on then.error light means main PCB failure, Toner light means fuser failure, drum light means laser failure. Toner and error light means main motor error, drum plus error light means its a fan failure.
