Lithium batteries aren't rechargeable. Your small round CR2032 battery lasts 8 years. It is the same battery in a computer motherboard and easy to find in any pharmacy.
REPLACING 3V LITHIUM BATTERY The Auto-set time memory is maintained by a lithium button cell battery, model CR2032. The expected life of this battery is about 8 years. Be sure that the 2 "AA" batteries in the clock are fresh. The MODE switch (8) must be in the RUN position when replacing this button cell battery. This battery is located in the small round battery compartment on the rear of the clock secured by a screw. Open the battery compartment (3) with a screw driver and replace the CR2032 lithium battery observing the polarity. Then close the compartment securing with the screw.
Anon, replace battery with a good strong AA Energizer or Duracell Alkaline not a cheap battery, make sure battery contact point in clock are clean and no corrosion. If this does correct the problem, the clock mechanism is probably just wearing out from age which is normal unless it is digital. Read through the links and learn how some time mechanisms can be made to work properly again. Check the attached links, instruction and guides, Good luck

Do you mean you set the correct time initially and then gradually got faster? There may be a reset button on it somewhere,no guarantee. It will probably be a small circle that doesn't look like anything. If there is,press it with a sharp pencil or something just as small. If not,it's just the nature of the beast.I have a radio which slows down over time...and it's a BOSE wave radio and have to adjust periodically! That's about all you can do is deal with it.Sorry if you can't fix it. Good luck!
This solution from the answers below worked on my model 40007 clock today: If you hold down the button on top that says DST for like 10 seconds it will allow you to force change the time. Thanks. wd 11/21/2010
If it is a radio controlled clock and it is consistently out, then the hands need re-setting. I have hand a similar experience with my watch, so I fully understand the problem.
You can adjust the hand settings by pressing the right buttons!
If you have the instructions, then refer to the to adjust the hands. If you do not have the instruction, then go to the makers web site and look for manuals download.
