May I offer a suggestion, if you are not a mechanic on transmission take it and get it repaired. The speed sensors are in the transmission, you will have to take the oil pan off then valve body but first drain the fluid then you will have a internal or input sensor then a output sensor [speed] if you are not familiar you could cost major cost of repairs hope this helps and Good Luck Mike L
P0300 is a random miss fire , a vacuum leak can cause this as well as low fuel pressure ! weak fuel pump , clogged fuel filter !

Looks the RFDI chip in the key is defect. Your Mercedes car dealer should be able to help you with that.
Fist to make sure it is a chip problem in the key and second by replacing the chip and the code and / or replacing the battery it an empty battery is the issue.

IT's your intermittent speed - they only work when moving when set on intermittent. If you go to normal or hi and it stops, then you have bad switch or relay. Sorry to say there's nothing on a BENZ that's inexpensive to repair - I used to work for them.
I have a 2001 C240 with the same issue. I removed the positive battery cable from the battery and kept it off for 30 seconds then replaced it. Everything was reset and the key worked.
