Possibly the water control valve is leaking when shut off, and water constantly drips into the ice tray fill tube. When this happens, the fill tube becomes clogged with ice, and the ice tray does not fill. The ice tray will cycle often, because there is no water in the tray, but will remain empty. If this is the case, the water control valve at the bottom rear of the refrigerator will have to be replaced.

Hi there I have a Hotpoint WF541 washing machine. It has worked fine for 2 years, but now leaks a small amount of water from the soap dispenser down the front of the machine onto the floor. If...

Hi Sheena from retired Englishman in SW France @ 21:51 Sun evening (nothing on TV!)

Sorry if this seems a silly question/answer but have you removed the dispenser completely and ensured that it is not blocked anywhere, especially the conditioner/softener drawer area? Normally the pre-wash and wash powders sit in open ended trays to drop straight into the drum but the conditioner does not. It is not allowed out until the right time- it has to be flushed/siphoned out by the water feed. A common problem is that the tube/pipe which is in this tray down which it siphons is blocked- possible by a mix of powder and conditioner. It is easy to accidentally let the powder spill into it when filling.
My advice is to pull the drawer completely out and give it a good clean out, especially the conditioner bit!
Dispensers are removed either by pulling almost all of the way out then 1) pressing down on the lip at the rear to clear or 2) releasing the clip underneath the dispenser or 3) by lifting upwards just as you are pulling it out, whichever is the way for your machine.
Hope this cures the leaking!
Best of luck,

John C

Water leak from front powder/conditioner drawer.

Completely remove the dispenser unit. look inside the recess you have just taken the dispenser drawer from and look up. You will find this is covered in muck. Clean it with an old toothbrush or something but do not use too mush pressure. This should solve your problem. If not then you will need to replace the dispenser unit completely

The conditioner tray does not drain on my Bosch Exxcel 1200 Express. I have cleaned all I can see as best I can but have not solved the problem. Anyone know the the remedy please?

Hello,

Please remove the soap drawer and take off the top part of the conditioner section. A tube called the syphon tube will now be visible.

Wash out all of the conditioner residue from the draw and the top part which you removed, not forgetting the syphon tube and the part this fits into. These 2 parts need to be absolutely clean for the syphoning system to work correctly and is the only way the conditioner and water will flow out of the conditioner section of the draw. I always use my garden hose (set on high pressure) for this.

Reassemble the draw, fill it up with washing powder/liquid and conditioner (ensuring not to over fill the conditioner section) and push the draw fully back into the machine, then try a wash to see whether the conditioner has gone from the draw after the wash cycle completes.

If the conditioner is still in the draw then the problem is most likely a blockage in the upper part of the dispenser, where the water comes from. Remove the soap draw from the dispenser as before and with a stiff nylon bristled brush give the roof of the dispenser a good scrub clean to remove all soap and conditioner residue. As this residue may be very hard you may need to use some thin stiff wire to clear out the holes. Also, ensure that the front of the dispenser is clean along with the front of the draw, as the draw needs to be able to be pushed fully home.

Hopefully this will resolve your problem, if not please let me know.

Good luck.

Best regards,

Ian

Hello sir,i have a kenmore series 90 washer & dryer.this specific machine has top dispensing detergent/bleach&softner.when it becomes time for the softner to be dispensed on the re-fill the machine...

PLease check the hose that goes from the INLET VALVE to the dispensing system cup on your washer. This hose probably has a hole or the plastic dispensor is cracked and therefore leaking.
The inlet valve is working and when the time comes the water goes to the dispensing cup, so the system is working it is just the hose, dispensing cup or both.

Jenn-air side-by-side water dispenser leak

Check the fill tube to your icemaker and see if it has ice in it or in the fill cup to the icemaker. Most of the time when this problem happens it is the icemaker spraying the water. It could also be a bad module on the icemaker which can get stuck in the fill position and spray water all over the freezer.

Detergent dispenser is filled with water after wash is completed.

The water is left there because the syphon action is not working in the dispenser, what you need to do is to remove the dispenser drawer completely and thoroughly clean the conditioner compartment, poking any holes or tube, particularly the syphon tube with a piece of flexible wire or similar to ensure it is completely unblocked.
. to test, fill the conditioner compartment with water, and it should slowly empty itself, if it does not, then it is still blocked.
Plz rate this solution.Thanks.

Something leaking from dispenser frame

You can remove the frame around the dispenser by pulling it gently and then you access to the screws that hold the dispenser in place. Could be a spillage behind the frame. Good Luck.
