There are two LED light bulbs and assembly for sale on eBay for $4.99 with $2.00 shipping right now. It is part ##087502. Do a search for Singer 7422.

It comes mounted on a tiny circuit board, and the other ends plug into a larger circuit board. Just observe how and where the other one unplugs; it's not at all difficult to do, and the plug end only goes in the correct way--it just won't fit any other way.

Foot pedal

http://www.sewingpartsonline.com/foot-control-and-cord-singer-87532.aspx and many, many, many other places. Should be in the $30-50 range. I am not necessarily suggesting this particular source, but I have used their parts before satisfactorily.

Warranty for singer 7436

When/Where did you buy the machine. Most machines these days only have a 90 warranty. Janome has a bit longer... then of course there's the warranty the seller may or may not sell you.

Personally? I would toss that Singer as far as I could then let the neighbor boys shoot at it. I'm sorry they just aren't made like they used to be and Singer is not well regarded by seamers anymore. Spend your $$$$ on a Janome or Babylock.

While sewing, my light shut off. Flickered on and off for a minute, now completely off.

Most likely, the light has burnt out. It's probably a type of appliance bulb. Take a look in your machine's manual and see if it tells you what type of light to buy. If it does, take the manual with you to the hardware store, too (preferably an Ace, True Value, something like that-not Home Depot). Otherwise, take the bulb with you and ask someone at the store for help. Tell them what the bulb is for and they should be able to help you buy a replacement.

Sewing machines use standard appliance bulbs, but they are very low watt bulbs and not just a general type, so be sure to get some help. You're bulb just probably has burnt out just like one in your lamp does.
