My Kenmore 665.6062200 microwave intermittently displays -F6-. When displaying -F6-, touchpad only responds with a beep. No command/number entry. However, the magnetron, blower fan, and interior light start/stop just by closing/opening the door. (No turntable rotation) When the -F6- error is not displaying, the unit works completely normal. Occasionally, the -F6- error condition will self correct over time, or after shutting the door.

The first three digits of your model number are 665, which means it was made by Whirlpool.
On a Whirlpool, F6 means a fault on the control board, such as a timing error or a shorted relay.
A shorted relay could mean it is running when it shouldn't. Pleased don't allow it to do that for more than a few seconds, or other serious damage could occur.
The first thing to try is a "hard reset". Unplug it from the power line for a few minutes, plug it back in, set the clock, then try again.
If it still fails, please leave it unplugged, and I would say you have a problem on your control panel assembly, which we repair for customers nationwide with our $39.95 service.

SOURCE: Microwave won't function.
This
is usually caused by either a bad door switch, a loose door switch
mount (which are pretty simple problems to fix) or
occasionally a
problem on the control panel.
Even though a door
switch clicks, it may still be bad inside.
Door switch
or mount trouble is usually caused by slamming the door or by opening
the
door while it's cooking without hitting the Stop pad first.
There are
plastic mounts inside the microwave which hold the door switches and
onto which the door latches lock when you close the door.
The screws on these
mounts may be loose. If they get too loose, the switches will not be
activated properly.
Sometimes it's
a broken tab on the switch holder, allowing the switch to rotate just
out of position. This tab
can be hard to see, since it is under the
bottom edge of the switch.
If you or someone you
know decide to look
into it, we have critical information on safety, disassembly and door
switches at our site, and our link is at our listing here on

You can usually find
exploded views and order parts by entering your model number at the Sears
parts site.
A full Sears/Kenmore
model number has 3 digits, a dot, then 8 more digits, such as
###.########
There
may also be a "mini-manual" hidden inside the unit behind the control
panel or hidden on the left side behind the grille, which is very
helpful when troubleshooting & testing.
If you only need a
switch, you can order a universal type here for $5 postpaid.
If you think the problem
is on the control panel, we repair these nationwide by mail
for $39.95 postpaid in most cases.

SOURCE: kenmore elite microwave oven displays "Locked" and will not respond
My Kenmore Elite microwave (don't have the model number in front of me) also mysteriously locked its own keypad (we were sitting in an adjacent room, heard a strange beep, and got up to find the LED reading "Locked."). I pressed and held down the Stop/Clear button for ~10 seconds and it returned to normal.
SOURCE: After use, fan keeps running and control panel not working
Hi, this is a major chip fault. this chip is located on the control board and, it is responsible for initiating the cooking cycle correctly. you will need to replace the control board asap. it has failed.
SOURCE: error code
F6 is a communication error. It is either a loose connection to the control board, or the control board is shot. They should have diagnosed this when they came out to fix it. Open it up, and look for loose connections.
good luck
