When you turn on the tv, the red indicator light blinks 17 times and then the picture comes on only to start blinking on and off. Sounds is fine and the color looks fine. Is there a solution or possible replacement part?

U have a soldering iron,desoldering pump or a roll of desoldering braids,a roll of solders?Can u do basic soldering and uderstand basic electronic?FBT- the flyback transformer,the big black block of a plastic with a red wire with a cap hook to a CRT-tv picture tube.Near the big block of a plastic with a red wire with a cap hook to a CRT picture tube.Inside to the right of the FBT,there are 2 power supply ICS,those 2 ICS are dead.Replaced these 2 power supply ICS near the FBT,will solved this tv LED power light indication blinking and will have stable tv power again,and tv will work.

In sony tv`s the 4 blink code(sony error codes)usually means that there is a vertical deflection problem.
It is often caused by a faulty vertical output i.c and/or related components.

Hi, Symptom shows Lamp is weak in result and causing restart of TV again and again. Your TV requires new lamp as per following part number... A1085447A* LAMP BLOCK ASSY XL-2200U It is available in Sony Accessories Store for $200 and replacement procedure is written in instruction manual of TV.
Always buy Sony original lamp for TV and avoid aftermarket / cheap lamp for TV safety.
The 7 blinks indicate a high voltage shutdown (high voltage exceeded 33,000V). This is usually caused by a defective regulator. Could you please post the exact model number (KVxxx) and I'll look up the part you will likely need?
This is possibly an indication that the picrute tube is starting to fail. To confirm this, open up the back and carefully turn up the screen control just a bit. This is the upper control on the flyback transformer (part with large red wire coming out the top). Turn it only slightly clockwise. If the picture remains on, this suggests that the tuvbe is starting to fail and you will have given yourself enough time to find a replacement. Please note that this is not a permanent fix.
