Paper jammed but no paper is jammed.

I have a canon pixma ip1800 printer i bought it to print photos 4x6inch canon glossy photo paper.i use only original ink also.the photos print perfectly all the time, wen i tried printing normal A4 size documentsthe printer wont pull the paper through and it says paper jam,i tried uninstalling and re-installing the drivers and put A4 paper in to print documents from office but it does the same thing, and i even put new ink in but A4 paper wont feed i think it pulls the page a tiny bit tyo the right side then it says paper jammed.but the photos print immediately no problems,so my printer is working but just not for the A4page so wat can i do.

Sounds like something has fallen into the paper path. Use a flashlight and small mirror to look down the slot where the paper goes. You may have to use a straightened paper clip or the like to help remove the obstruction.

I guess there is a small piece of paper near A4 sensor...

Try carefully to dismantle and clean...

Good luck

I purchased glossy 8x11 paper for my canon pixima. There are subtle streaks in the photographs. what to do

Did you purchase genuine canon paper or canon compatible paper by canon.
If not that is why, must be canon / canon compatible paper.
If you did use that paper then perform "print head clean" in printer sofware.

Printer issues

If you are using Glossy paper, when you go to print make sure to go into the printer Properties from the Print dialog box and select Glossy paper in the type. This will put the printer into it's highest print quality mode.

So from most windows applications, it would be :-
CTRL-P (to print with dialog box for changes)
Click on Properties
Select a Media type of glossy photo paper
Select standard or high print quality.

p.s. you may need to experiment which if the media types gives you best quality for the paper your using, unless it's Canon paper and then just match it up.

I CANT LOAD THE PAPER

I have just figured it out!!! You of course know to lift the cover......inside there is a slider to match the size of paper that you are using. I am using glossy photo paper 4 x 6. Glossy side up on the right side of the divider......and press print!!! Not explained anywhere in the instructions......this was after much trial and tribulation.
