Hi. I think I have an Idea on what's the problem with your machine. There is this software that lenovo installs on almost all lenovo laptop machines that is called Lenovo Readycomm, this software is for the wireless network, you can use this to manage you wireless network but somehow this software sometime has a conflict on some opertaing system like vista and windows 7. So you just need to uninstall this software and restart your computer afterwards. To uninstall the Lenovo Readycomm go to control panel and make sure that its on classic view to see all the icons on the control panel, then look for Programs and Features Icon on the control panel, from there look for the Lenovo readycomm software and uninstall it. Here's the other way click start then type on the start search box appwiz.cpl then press enter. It should show you the Programs and Features Window then look for Lenovo Readycomm and uninstall it and restart your computer. Hope this helps
have the same problem. even after assigning a valid address statically to the network card and connecting with a wired connection, i cant even ping the router
Looked at the specs on your laptop and you have the wireless card included. I assume you have a router set up already or you have access to another wireless network. Follow these steps to access it from your laptop:
1. Go to START 2. select MY COMPUTER 3. Once in the new window, click MY NETWORK PLACES under the "OTHER PLACES" section 4. select the VIEW NETWORK CONNECTIONS link under the NETWORK TASKS section 5. RIGHT CLICK on your wireless network connection and choose PROPERTIES 6. click the WIRELESS NETWORKS tab. 7. make sure the "USER WINDOWS TO CONFIGURE MY WIRELESS NETWORK SETTINGS" box is checked 8. Click OK and close the window 9. RIGHT CLICK on your wireless network connection (the name of it) and choose REPAIR 10. if windows detects the wireless connection, you should see a bubble near the task bar 11. in order to begin using the wireless connection, open your web browser then enter your username and password (if required)
