Digital Thermostats... good idea on paper, but in practical use they are less than desired. Get an inexpensive mechanical thermostat, wire it in, and run the unit. When you reach your comfort zone adjust the temperature on the unit so it just shuts off, and LEAVE IT ALONE.

heating and cooling are more than just making the air the right temperature, EVERYTHING in the space needs to reach the desired temperature, walls floor, furnishings....everything. And while it is true that a digital thermostat can save you a few cents per hour in operating costs, the time you spend to learn how a particular high tech device works, experimenting with the programming, possibly battery back-up power to maintain a program, the hassle is just not worth the savings, particularly in an RV where you spend limited time anyway.

wiring a standard thermostat is green for fan control, red for power in, white for heat, and yellow for cool. You can test your unit's function by connecting red green and white wires to check for heat, red green and yellow wires to check for cool.

If these tests fail, most likely you have a bad component on your control circuit board and it should be replaced. If you have experience with circuit diagnosis and repair you could save a buck by replacing the bad part of the board, but most folks will save time and money simply swapping out the entire board.

If the tests for function pass, then wire in your new, simple, easy to operate $20 thermostat and call it a win.

It may be a wiring problem at the thermostat, quite often there is a jumper missing in the thermostat between the R terminal and the RC terminal. hope this helps

SOURCE: ATWOOD MOBILE FURNACE RUNS WHEN IT WANTS/

Check your furnace for power. will be 4 wires. power ground and 2 thermostat wires. Check for power at the time delay relay, if you have power there check for power going in the fan motor, if power in motor wire, motor is bad. If no power in motor wire and power going to circuit board take the 2 thermostat wire apart and wrap the 2 together comimg from the thermostat. Fan will stat in about 30 seconds. If it does you need a control kit in the ac. But sounds to me like you have a furnace problem.

T-stat is not getting 12v-not to furnace or AC.checked all breakers all connectors. I did connect the battery directly to the thermostat system and everything worked.

i don't know. please turn on 110 volt switches to furnace and air conditioner. set thermostat at reasonable settings for both units. my furnace has a separate switch on the furnace that isolates my thermostat. you may have one. also, my thermostat does not have a clock. if yours does, there may be a small extra battery for the clock.

I have a duo therm ac unit on 2003 gbm f53 fan only works in the on position not in the auto also unit will not shut at stat only with breaker any clue

First you may check the t-stat settings if its a digital tstat. Some t-stats need to be "set up" for your unit. The configuration of the t stat may be for a gas furnace (which controls its own blower) and you may need it to be configured for an electric (heat&cool) unit which the t-stat controls the blower operation. As for the non stop operation that could be a normally open switching relay that is stuck closed. Or numerous other situations. Can't help much there.

Power up unit and thermostat, circuit board and gas valve smokes. checked transformer and its output is 24vac. this happened after a thunderstorm. blower works manually from furnace but not @ thermostat....

You have a short circuit, which is obviously dangerous. Your blower motor is controlled via a 24VAC control circuit, but is 120VAC. The circuit board and gas valve are probably history, but it needs to be troubleshot to determine the scope of the damage. If you remove T stat you will see several colored wires. The red and green wire when touched together should cause your fan blower to run. If that works when you bypass t stat the t stat is gone. The red to white will open your gas valve on your heater. The red to the yellow or blue will start your AC compressor or condenser fan motor. Be careful with the yellow and blue wires as one is actually a neutral and one goes to the AC contractor on your condenser unit contractor. Hope this helps!

How do u wire athermostat to the furnance and ac unit on model e3eb-015h nordyne

You need to get low voltage wire known as 5 wire. run wires thru wall to stat and furnace Red wire goes to R terminal white to W terminal Green to G terminal Yellow to Y terminal on both the stat and furnace circuit board. Now you need a wire called 2 wire low voltage wire run that from furnace circuit board to outside A/C. At furnace hook red wire to Y terminal and white to C terminal doesnt matter which ones you hook up at outside unit. Do it just like i told you this will work properly.
If this helps please rate me.

FURNACE OR AC WONT TURN ON

to see if it is the t-stat or the system you can unwire the entire t-stat and jump out the wires. never touch the blue to any other wire or you will blow the low voltage fuse on new board. if you jump red to yellow and your condensing unit cycles on the t-stat is wired wrong or wrong style. If not go check the yellow wire at cond. unit and see if power is even going to it.
