BIOS

Step 1:
This might not be your laptop it might give you a guide into the cmos battery
The CMOS (Complementary Metal Oxide Semiconductor) battery saves basic settings on your computer. If the date and time function on your Acer notebook isn't working, chances are your CMOS battery needs to be replaced. Separate from your laptop's main battery, the CMOS battery is about the and shape of a coin and is located inside of your computer. Changing the battery yourself isn't the simplest task that relates to your Acer, but it isn't terribly difficult either. Here's how.

Open the notebook screen until you can easily access the keyboard. Locate the plastic bar that borders the top of the keyboard. Insert the flat head screwdriver at one end of the bar and gently pry it up until you can grip the edge with your fingers. Pry the other side of the bar up with the screwdriver and pull out the entire bar, being careful to mind the ribbon cord that connects the keyboard to the computer. Remove the two screws on either side of the keyboard that secure it to the computer. Slide the keyboard up and place it to the side. Remove the four screws on the exposed metal plate that covers the motherboard and remove it. You should now see the CMOS battery in the bottom-right-hand corner of the motherboard. Remove the battery by gently pulling it up and off the motherboard. Replace it with the same model battery (available at any computer store or online). Reassemble the computer the same way you took it apart. Acer TravelMate 6592G Keyboard Replacement Guide http://tomkaminski.com/acer-travelmate-6592g-keyboard-replacement-guide

The cmos battery is out of service. Where can i buy a new one?

You can purchase a CMOS battery from any local computer store in your area. If you don't know how to remove and connect the CMOS battery, I would suggest bringing your Acer Travelmate to any local computer shop or if you preferred, you can bring it to Acer Accredited Service Center.

Thank you,
Jack

Hi, please, answer following questions I have referring to an ACER TravelMate 333T notebook: 1. Where is the 2nd RAM socket located? 2. Where is the C-MOS battery placed? Thank you!

The most likley place for the second ram socket, as with most laptops, is under the keyboard. You can confirm this by going to acers website and downloading the technical manul for this laptop. The CMOS battery would be underneath the board, so replacing it would me completley disassembling the enitire laptop.

Same problem but have got acer travelmate 4150

Check on motherbord again you can find cmos cell it is look like round battery cell.
Then pull it for 10 minutes so all bios settings are defaults.
Also you can clear bios with jumper find jumper on motherbord it has 3 -pin 1-2-3 right now jumper is in 1-2 position set it to 2-3 position so your bios is clear. Then again set it to it's original position.
then it not ask for password.
Let me know if you need more assistance.
